Who are these hardy little folks? Hammonasset Beach, CT shore, February 13. I was wondering Dunlin, but the other folks out thought Purple Sandpiper.

I agree with your ID. These look like non-breeding Dunlin (Calidris alpina), family Scolopacidae, order Charadriiformes, to me.
