I have no idea because it's all nonsensical. Nick probably has a decent size contract since it appears those things are based on longevity rather than character/popularity hierarchy. There's no way Bradley is costing them much of anything (and there's absolutely an argument to be made that Lewis is more expendable than Vinny and should have been the one to go if one of them needed to go and the only thing that saved him is a completely cost ineffective return). Yes he's been there a while but certainly not in relation to the other expendable characters he can be lumped in with. The Sam, Rodney, Vanessa, Chas and Lydia actors are all making more than Bradley. Lucy and James are definitely on the higher end of the pay for the entire cast and both characters are definitely expendable at this point story wise. So they're not cutting anyone who is actually helping with the cost thing. At least not yet anyway.

The Vinny departure is weird in general given the last year of that character. The show really heavily pushed the Vinny/Lewis relationship early in the year especially over Valentine's social media posts. Now the comments section of all that promotion did show that the audience at large wasn't invested and didn't care at all but that hasn't stopped the show in any other area this year, so I find it hard to believe it had any effect in this singular area. I wonder if Bradley just declined the pay cut and his axing is a result of that rather than part of the original plan.
