#druid circle

Okay, let's do some backfilling on the days I missed. Day 6 of Janbrewary was about Psionics. I've made druids tied to sleeping, so dreams, nightmares, and imagination were good steps to follow.

Hello! I really like dinosaurs, and so naturally that was bound to bleed into my d&d stuff! Druid is also one of my favorite base classes, and I’ve always wanted to do a dinosaur subclass for it! Hope you enjoy!

Subclass: Circle of the Wolf

Many know lycanthropy only as a curse, the result of a failed deal with witches, a horrifying ailment that results only in bloodthirst or death. But others seek favor with nature in the identity of Wolf-druids, powerful forces of the natural world that shape their bodies to become that of a wolf... or someting resembling a wolf, but not entirely natural, anyway. Follow the twists and turns of the path of the wolf, and see where it might take you.

As we continue our tour of the classes, the druid takes a turn with the Circle of Reclamation! This is a great subclass for letting out your inner eco terrorist warrior, so go ahead and have some fun breaking things.

I will level with you, this one went through some serious changes before the final version. My original concept was a druid that was a bit of a siege engine: getting big, smashing things, tearing down walls. There were two problems with representing this mechanically. One, did you know 5e doesn't really have rules for damaging objects and structures? So, short of writing a few extra pages for the DMG myself, that wasn't going to happen. Two, it turns out druids can already do a lot of those things through spells - check out Meld Into Stone and Stone Shape, then tell me a druid has ever been stopped by a anything so paltry as a castle wall.

Anyhoo, here's hoping you guys like this half as much as you liked last week's lizards.

You know, some characters just cause trouble for the party.

Fia, my kitsune druid, is one of them.

In my defense, she really isn't trying to.

She was just raised in the feywild by a fey who is an ambassador to other fey. Aka she doesn't know how "normal" people in "normal" society with "normal" morals work.

Like she thinks that if the law says you can't steal from people, then you just have to kill them first, cuz that is not one of the three rules stated. Or, if you let them survive, their stuff is free game because it is in exchange for their life. Makes sense to her. Dem's da rules, after all.

But if you hunt and kill animals not for food thereby wasting their lives, she will hunt you down and she will kill you. And then possibly turn into a bear and eat the evidence of killing you. It's not cannibalism if you aren't the same species at the time of consumption! Right? Right? Guys? Why do you look so horrified? Oh, it's that not morally okay? My bad. Sorry.

Also, if her ambassador job goes wrong, she may kill and eat the problem person (as a different species, obviously). That way she still solved the problem and there's no evidence her diplomacy failed.
