Listen to me, friend. I’m a New Yorker who’s been stuck in the pit that is this state for the last 11 years. Granted, Northern VA is slightly more tolerable, but the price we pay for living in one of the only blue parts of the state is a horrifying proximity to the melting circus peanut living in the White House.

1. how many texts do you send a day do you think

Big fat zero. I haven't had a cell phone since December 2012.

2. what sort of decorations do you have?

In my room, you mean? A couple of Harry Potter posters ("Beware, Fluffy!" and "The Subtle Art of Potions-Making", both official licensed art), a calendar from 1987 printed on a bamboo scroll with the poem "Footprints" overtop of it (incidentally, it's the same calendar as for this year), a calendar from 1992 printed on a felt wall hanging with a photograph of me and my "nana" overtop of it, a framed lithograph of two black wolves called "Wolf Ridge", two shelves of porcelain dolls, and a sort of shadow box with my tassel from high school graduation framed next to a picture of me in my cap and gown. (I have a bunch of other posters that I haven't put up yet.)

3. favorite weather

Cool and breezy, but not too cool--the kind where you can wear a t-shirt or a sweatshirt, take your pick. I really like it when it's overcast (I know, I'm weird). I also like the rain...

4. how do you usually do your hair, if you do?

I usually pull it back in a ponytail, or leave it loose, parted on the left side.

5. sweet or sour/sweet or savory

Depends on my mood, but generally, I prefer sweet to sour and savory to sweet.

6. morning ritual

Wake up, mentally curse dogs, look at clock, try to get back to sleep, fail, turn off white noise generator, lie on back and come up with story ideas that nine times out of ten will never get written, sit up, put on glasses, put on shirt, grab book, go downstairs, pee, scrounge up something for breakfast, come back upstairs, turn on tablet, take turn(s) on Dice With Buddies, check Facebook messages from overnight (if any), check e-mail, read comics on GoComics app, read Bible plan, check whatever webcomics update that day, get on Tumblr.

7. bedtime ritual

Take off shirt, turn out light, sit cross-legged on bed, say prayers, take off glasses, turn on white noise generator, lie on stomach, make up more stories that will never get written to put self to sleep.

8. have you been outside your current country?

Yes, once.

Both? If we're talking small portable devices, Android is definitely growing on me. But I really, really, REALLY miss my MacBook Pro.
