Summary:

Draco Malfoy is a—self-described—reformed man, ten years after the war. He’d worked hard to muddle through his mistakes, learn from his past and reckon with his future. Now the only thing left on his list is to apologize to Hermione Granger, who has so far refused to hear a word of it. Luckily, his Ministry-mandated community service hours have finally brought him to her department, which makes this his best chance at reconciliation. And he's not going to blow it.

“Granger,” Draco looked up from the papers in his hands and was met with a stony look. “It’s clear you’d prefer I was not here.” He kept his tone even and conversational.

“We needed the help,” Hermione said as she side-stepped the implication.

“And I am here to help. I’ve requested to complete service hours in your department for—”

“Five years. I’m aware. I’ve denied it every time. This is not a department that I want your influence in. But we are desperate for help leading up to program season and you were my only option. That is why you’re here.”

Ouch. He felt the slice of her words, but drew in a breath through his nose with a singular nod to lighten their impact. "Then I will get to my paperwork.”

To Woo a Witch is my favorite holiday fic, and my favorite fic featuring little Scorp! I reread it recently and just had to draw them.

Draco couldn’t deny the draw he felt to her, the comfort he felt in her presence. She saw him like no one else did and accepted every part of him—even the things he had to do in order to survive. She didn’t run when she found out about his father promising him to follow in Voldemort’s steps, but was willing to stand by his side while he fought this. Draco never thought such loyalty would ever befall him, but he had found it in her of all people.

I owe you a HUGE apology for disappearing on updates. The end of the year was genuinely chaotic, and I ended up between jobs, so a lot of my time and energy went into getting back on my feet. On top of that, I also started putting real focus into my book (OG project!), which was exciting, but it absolutely threw my fanfic schedule off track.

I’m sorry for the silence, the delays, and for leaving you hanging.

But, I’m back now, and I’m getting back into my normal rhythm. Going forward, my goal is to update every 15 days, but at the very least once a month (so you won’t be waiting forever again).
