Running Draftboard like a native Mac App
Draftboard and Mac OS X
If you use an Intel Mac running OSX 10.6 or later (Snow Leopard), you can run Draftboard as if it were a native Mac application.
To run Draftboard as an app first download the free Fluid application from the Celestial Teapot website.
Setting up Draftboard in Fluid
When you first launch Fluid you will be greeted with the "Create a Fluid App" screen.
First you need to enter the 'URL' of the website that you wish to turn into an app.
In the first field marked "URL", enter the URL that you would normally type into your browser to access your Draftboard account.
This would be https://yoursubdomain.draftboardapp.com/login
If you have Draftboard open in a browser on your computer and you are logged in you can simply copy and paste the URL from your browser into this Fluid field.
In the "Name" field you can enter anything you wish - this will become the name of your application.
Here is a free Draftboard App Icon that you can use instead of the favicon.
Once set up, Draftboard will work and feel like a native Mac application. You can even keep it in your dock.
I liked the product so much, I bought the company...
For those of you old enough to remember that was one of the better marketing slogans from the late 70's early 80's.
Victor Kiam was the American businessman who became famous for his advert saying "I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company" making Remington shavers an household name.
So did we like Draftboard so much we bought the company, well kind of, but as a good friend of mine once said "never let the truth get in the way of a true story".
As a small web design and development company we actually signed up to use a service provided by one of the competitors to Draftboard. The problem with the service we originally signed up to use was the complicated setup and difficult to use workflows, sure it had lots of features, but we soon fell back into our old way of working and our account lay unused.
When we heard Draftboard was for sale from the original developers we decided to give online collaboration another look and we immediately fell in love with the app.
Gone was all the fluff instead just the tools we needed for our team to collaborate on our designs and mockups and get signoff from our clients.
So we ended up acquiring Draftboard and we are really looking forward to working with all the Draftboard users and developing the app further. We would like to thank Design Vectica for the original development, awesome job guys and wish them well in future. A great young team who we are sure will go on to even greater things.
To keep up to date with all the new developments at Draftboard you can follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

Draftboard has new owners
We are pleased to announce that Draftboard now has new owners. Whilst the sale took place some time ago we have spent time recently learning all about how Draftboard functions. We think Design Vectica did a great job with the original development, we are now ready to build on that and take Draftboard forward. As a small web development company we really appreciate what Draftboard does, we appreciate its simplicity, the features you need without the bloat. However there is always room for improvement and we will continue developing and refining Draftboard and introducing new features over time. If there is anything you like to see incorporated into Draftboard let us know, we're listening.
