And when samiel can’t sleep, Carys buries his face into his neck and tells him about all the beautiful dreams he had in his sleep. He tells samiel about his dream of flying with the dragons, and how free he felt. He tells samiel about the time he dreamt about a very particular sharp smile and dexterous hands. He knows, of course, that samiel will never let him live this down, come morning. But for tonight, he tells him about all the dreams he’s had since, about all the times samiel’s gentle hands have calmed him in his sleep, all the times he dreamed of beating the man in a horse race, and all the flowers in the garden that he dreamt they shared.

Might I pitch my favorite;

Flower Boy finally saying “I love you” back to Samael right before he takes the ritual of ascension. Bleeding out in Samael’s arms, surrounded by demons, unsure whether he’ll survive the process, while Samael begs him to live.
