I made a blood magic deal (/j) to get my hands on the world map, but I don't think that's needed to enjoy the series. I don't think there's anything in the discord about characters or events that couldn't be gathered from the source material itself, but I'm not in it so take that statement with a grain of salt. "lightstorm" is the shipname for Michael and Gail. Not to be confused with Lightspeed, who is Gail's VA. When I talk about the ship, I'm usually riffing on what was established in the newest episode with the toxic engagement and the messy breakup... hence the "samiel is a child of the lightstorm divorce" joke

Watching Phoenix Drop High with a more matured mindset compared to when I used to watch it is so odd. Because Aaron and Aphmau's age gap is SO weird, especially as someone who is around Aaron's age. Like, Aphmau doesn't even know where babies come from. She still gets grossed out by the idea of kissing. She is practically a BABY compared to him. Just... insane. They could've had it to where she was actually meant to be a sophomore, but was held back a grade, which caused her to start homeschooling. And he was actually meant to be a junior, but he was put in a grade ahead by his controlling parents a long time ago. Just... ughhhhh. The age gap is so gross.
Even from like an actual high-schoolers perspective it's weird as fuck. As im a high-schooler myself (going into 11th grade) and holy shit thats GROOOOSSSSS I wouldn't be caught dead trying to date a freshman. Hell i wouldn't be caught dead dating a 10th grader.
