I thought it would be hilarious if maysilee’s grandmother was barb azure’s girlfriend in bosas, so I went with it. it evolved from crackship into seriousship extremely quickly. I personally think they’re both lesbians, though if you hc barb azure as bi/pan, that’s cool, too.

tell me they didn’t have something going on. oh wait YOU CAN’T—especially not in my rewrite. lenore dove is pan. I don’t take constructive criticism. additionally, there’s so much meta to support the idea that maysilee is queer. I think she’s a lesbian, but I can see a bi maysilee, too.

bottom left: madge and katniss

the ogs. the ones who started it all. my favorite thg ship. what can I possibly say about them that hasn’t already been said? I think madge is a lesbian. I thought she was canonically a lesbian for a very long time. I think she’s a lesbian, full stop. I cannot see her with a dude. (but again, if you see her as bi, that’s fine.) as for katniss, I think she’s bi, demiromantic, and demisexual. I don’t… really think I need to explain why? There’s a lot of text evidence to support a sapphic and a-spec reading for katniss, authorial intent notwithstanding.

bottom right: aroace tam amber

tam amber being aroace is so so so important to me. this man has no stated romantic interests in either ballad or sunrise, so I have therefore dubbed him aroace. I want to write about all of these hcs, don’t get me wrong, but aroace tam amber ESPECIALLY so. the burnout is just. incredibly potent at the moment, and has been for several months.

when plutarch devises that spinning haymitch & maysilee as star-crossed lovers could save both of their lives, they are forced into a performance that haymitch knows will have dire consequences on his relationship with lenore dove when he returns home. unbeknownst to him or maysilee yet, being caught in this love triangle will bring feelings to the surface maysilee never intended to face. (relationships: haymitch/lenore dove, haymitch/maysilee, lenore dove/maysilee)

@thgsapphicsweek day 4: canon divergence au or mistaken for a couple

though I admit I do like my backstory of maysilee and lenore dove having been friends as children and growing apart as a result of societal pressures… I’m sure there’s a way to combine these two ideas, though. I’m just not quite sure what it is at the moment.

I can just imagine maysilee using “allen” as a shield when she’s prodded about never having a boyfriend/accused of being queer, but haymitch kinda feels bad because he knows allen isn’t real and he doesn’t know if he should tell maysilee or not… but then maysilee says “oh i think allen prefers guys, anyhow. just my luck. and they’re so sweet together, too… so sweet it makes me sick.” and that’s how haymitch knows she knows and when he realizes maysilee is definitely a lesbian, even if she can’t quite admit it herself yet. unless, of course, haymitch doesn’t know about allen…
