in the case of everlark I think it would absolutely be true and I can imagine peeta getting a little misty eyed seeing katniss complain about her back or birdwatching or something (lmao) because being old was never in the plan for them. so obviously they would find each other beautiful at any stage of life but I imagine getting old with each other has a certain level of emotion to it and seeing the other do/say something that ages them terribly would make them kiss the hell out of each other
Peeta would TOTALLY take Katniss’s name if they get married.
Katniss’s family has always been incredibly valuable to her and most of them aren’t around anymore. I find it SUPER hard to believe Katniss “I volunteer ” Everdeen would sever of one of her last ties to them if you put a gun to her head, let alone just getting married.
Peeta on the other hand has a pretty bad relationship with his family. His mum was abusive and none of his brothers even pretended to volunteer for him at the reaping. All through the books he’s shown to know what to do to get attention from people, how to silently take care of himself and how to take mistreatment from people to deescalate conflict. Ofc he’d LEAP at the chance to start a new family with the woman he loves most in the world.

The parallels between Peeta giving Katniss burnt bread and Twelve having a wedding tradition of the couple toasting bread together????
Peeta gives her the bread even though it only gives him pain. Katniss accepts the bread and feels bitter that she now 'owes' him in some way that she can't pay back.
Peeta loves Katniss even though she doesn't return it to start, and Katniss feels terrible that she can't return it.
Eventually, when they do get married for real, they both toast the bread, but it doesn't burn this time. They're finally on equal ground.
