Demolition and new construction or retrofit? In this project, JMV Consulting addressed this question and led the sustainability and Passive House design and launched a surprisingly advantageous concept for redevelopment. Without additional costs, the project creates sustainable comfortable living space for people who urgently need it with a smaller ecological footprint. The project is a model for industry-wide, ultra-low energy retrofits required to bring thousands of apartments across Canada up to contemporary standards. Transsolar has supported the design validating the concept with thermal simulation and experience from projects in Europe.
Built in 1967, Ken Soble Tower is the oldest high-rise in CityHousing Hamilton's portfolio and has been in disrepair for several years.

Roy Hobbs is spinning in his grave... I’ll have to update my post, “The Misguided Vindication of Roy Hobbs” on GasStationBurrito.com to include this new heinous turn of events. I’m not sure if you remember, but Roy Hobbs was reportedly the last person on earth to double space after a period. With his death in 2018 it was believed that the unnecessary extra space would finally vanish from modern typographic culture, but the debate seems to have flared up, probably due to the increase in personal consumption of bleach and other cleaning products by the general public. Several sources have also revealed that after five consecutive uses of a doubles space following period, Microsoft Word users will be banned for using Word for life. To be honest, I never really gave much thought to the potential implications of double-spacing after a sentence-ending period.
Does the use of two spaces consume unnecessary & wasted data in files?
Is it a matter of changing standards, like those revisionists who insist on dropping the “Oxford comma” – which, for me, is absurd, given the potential for myriads of humorous and contextual errors.
