Director #BarryLevinson does mythmaking of the quintessential baseball story in this 1⃣9⃣8⃣4️⃣ classic. ⚾ #RobertRedford was 48-years-old when this was released but he was still a bigger movie star than most will ever be. His portrayal of the failed big leaguer #RoyHobbs still has a magical quality about it despite the outlandish achievements Hobbs accomplishes. And that climactic scene for the pennant can still give you chills. I’m not sure if you remember, but Roy Hobbs was reportedly the last person on earth to double space after a period. He had a magic bat, the lightning bolt was his icon, and his super power was crushing baseballs.
