Double impatiens like this don’t winter over well indoors but for the last few years I’ve taken a cutting in autumn and rooted it up. It takes a while to fill out from when I first put it out in spring but it looks beautiful now. 🩷

That double impatiens at the bottom came from a cutting I had in a small bottle on the windowsill for most of the winter. Plants are amazing!
On the day before the first killing frost I felt so sorry to say goodbye to my big beautiful double impatiens that I took a little cutting to root up. To my surprise even though it’s still tiny it’s blooming!

The double impatiens took a while but they’re coming into their own. The garden Buddha appears to approve.
I haven’t mentioned the double impatiens but it has been doing wonderful work this season.
