Hi!!! Long time since we chatted!! I wanted to ask you if you knew the physical difference between the two versions of the L and Light figures. Is one more sculpted than the other?
Hi dotti!! Hope youâre well! I took another look at the figures and while thereâs fewer shirtless pics of L (crimes!), I think they are based on the same upper body form.

Title: Nexus
Name of creator: @mgcmind
Created for: @dotti55
Prompt: Light opens up to L the fact he thinks heâs gay.
Characters: L Lawliet/Light Yagami
Rating, warnings and no. of words: rated G, no warnings, 1758 words
The realization comes upon L slowly, which is unusual for him, as most realizations slam into his mind hard and fast, like freight trains. When he looks back on it, it is difficult to pinpoint the exact moment when he changed from the L who did not know to the L who did. Between late-night conversations (read: arguments) and early morning breakfasts, one truth about Yagami Light felt like it justâŠmanifested itself, coming out from under the shadows and becoming brighter and brighter, until the thought of it ever being kept secret seemed ludicrous and unbelievable. (It is unusual for him to place this much importance on one piece of information. It isnât as though it is useful for the investigation. It isnât as though it is a clue. But perhaps it isnât strictly the case that interests L right now.)
***
âYagami-kun, do you believe in true love?â L asks one morning, early in their forced cohabitation, over scones and coffee.
Between one sip of coffee and the next, Light smiles, laughs a bit, like he thinks the question is a joke.
âDoes anyone?â he answers, which isnât really an answer at all.
âOf course,â says L. âMany people do, I expect.â
âAre you one of them?â asks Light. He keeps up a hint of the previous smile. One elbow rests casually on the tabletop, his chin sitting atop one lightly curled fist.
He is trying to deflect, and L says so.
Light stiffens a bit. The smile is nowhere to be seen now. (It means nothing, though. Light makes no expression, probably draws no breath, without precise, calculated intent. So if he looks caught off guard, it doesnât mean he really is caught off guard.)
âSo what if I am? This has nothing to do with the case. Are you going to lock me up again if I refuse to answer personal questions?â
L crunches into a scone. It is crispy on the outside. It is soft, warm, and luscious inwardly.
âThat would be counter-productive,â he says. âBesidesâŠwhat if I am merely trying to get to know you better? Is that so wrong? We are friends, arenât we?â
âStrange topic for friends,â Light remarks drily, looking away.
L shrugs. He goes back to his scone.
Silence reigns for about thirty seconds or so. Then:
âOh for Godâs sake, Ryuzaki,â Light blurts out. âWe both know youâre asking because youâre trying to convince me, yet again, to become intimate with Misa to get information about the second Kira. If I donât believe in true love, youâll say that there is no reason not to use my influence over Misaâs emotions to get information, since it could save many lives and wonât betray any hypothetical relationship with my True Love in the future. And if I do believe in true love, youâll say that any True Love of mine would understand the position Iâm in, and approve of whatever means I used to save innocent â or not so innocent â people. Because anyone compatible with me would have to have the mentality that the ends justify the means.â
L nods. No point in denying it, after all.
Light sets down his coffee cup with a none-too-gentle sound.
âIf youâre smart enough for all of that, you should be smart enough to know Iâm not refusing to seduce Misa because of the existence or nonexistence of any True Love,â Light tells him. âIâm refusing because itâs morally wrong. I have principles, Ryuzaki, and Iâm asking you, yet again, to respect them.â
L makes a conciliatory gesture toward Light, over the tabletop.
âVery well, Yagami-kun. My apologies,â he says.
More silence. They finish breakfast, and manage to walk down the stairs to the investigation desks and computers without tripping each other up on the long handcuff chain.
When they sit down next to each other, each at their own respective monitors, Light says, âIf you really want to know: no, I donât believe in true love. And I donât not believe in it either. I need evidence to make decisions, and I donât have enough, at this point, to make a determination either way.â
L turns to look at him. He is met with shiny brown hair and a striking profile.
Then Light adds, with forced nonchalance, âAnd yes, we are friends.â
He turns to meet Lâs gaze. His lips turn up - just the barest bit â into a small smile.
L finds himself wanting to smile back, inexplicably. He doesnât, because Rue Ryuzaki certainly would not. But he does allow himself a nod and sincere-sounding, âthank you, Yagami-kun.â
***
Misa doesnât miss an opportunity to flirt with Light. If she is around, she is dancing around him, trying to catch his eye, or else whispering in his ear, or smiling and batting her long eyelashes in his directions.
Light, for his part, never misses an opportunity to rebuff her advances. If she tries to sit in his lap, he stands and moves away. If she hangs off of his arm, he takes it back, pretending to type up research notes.
It seems incomprehensible to Misa that anyone could spend any length of time with Light Yagami and not want to engage with him romantically. When L attached his wrist to Lightâs with a length of metal chain, her mind immediately jumped to Lâs sexual preferences and how he clearly wanted Light near for his own gratification. When L corrected her, Misa reacted to him as a jealous lover would to a rival.
Misa is endearing, in her way, and L takes her accusations in stride. He takes her unwanted desserts, and bonks her on the head with paper megaphones, and occasionally joins her in teasing Light.
But even as he does these things, he remains acutely aware of his prime suspect. And he notes that throughout Misaâs endless flirtations, and her endless insinuations about Lâs alleged homosexuality, Light remains conspicuously silent.
***
âIâm not lying to you, Ryuzaki!â Light screams. His voice - habitually an octave higher than most males his age, in order that he may appear kind, agreeable, and generally soft - goes an octave down. L realizes that this is how Light would sound normally, if he would allow himself to be even halfway authentic.
L prefers this voice. L will always prefer Light in his most truthful form. He will always be annoyed when Light obfuscates, or conceals, or downright lies.
âYou are. You have been for months. You are Kira. Thereâs no question. Simply admit it.â
âI wonât!â yells Light, going so far as to stomp his foot. The moon shines itself like a spotlight on him.
âYou hide yourself from everyone, all the time,â L says. âIt is exhausting, isnât it? Playing a part every second of every day? Wouldnât it be nice to be honest with one person, at least? Wouldnât it be nice to be honest with me?â
âI am honest with you! Youâre too blind to see whatâs right in front of you!â
âI have been called many things, Yagami-kun, but blind is not one of them,â says L mildly.
âThatâs because Iâm the only one youâve ever met whoâs smart enough to see it! You, with your pseudonyms and your computers and the goddamn persona you wear like a second skin! You want to lecture me about authenticity?â Light says, viciously. âDespite all your poking and prodding and invasions of privacy and these fucking thingsâ - he brandishes the wrist with the handcuff on it - âdespite all that, Iâve never lied to you!â
âYagami-kun,â L scoffs. âYou havenât even been able to tell me the real reason you wonât investigate Misa.â
âI wonât manipulate her because I have principles! How many times to do I have tell you?!â
âPrinciplesâŠâ muses L. âWell, there may be some truth to that. But there is another reason. A deeper reason, something you wonât admit to me. I donât know if youâve even admitted it to yourself.â
And just like that, theyâre no longer talking about the case.
Lightâs eyes narrow, and his lips set themselves into an unbending line. The air surrounding them seems to chill all at once, and solidify like glass. Like ice. L wonders, for the first time in his life, if he has perhaps pushed someone too far.
âHow dare you. How dare you!â Light hisses. âTo think that IâŠthat I honestly thoughtâŠâ
He laughs, and it is a twisted, broken, furious sound.
âYou canât leave well enough alone, can you? Itâs not enough for you to solve crimes? You have to push people and push and push and push until they break open. You want whatever anyone is hiding, whether itâs relevant to a crime or not! You canât let anyone hold anything private, can you? You are so goddamned cold.â
Light delivers this diatribe with the harshest intonation L has ever heard another human being utter. Then he turns around, presenting L with his back, and stands, if possible, even taller and prouder than before.
âCongratulations, L. Youâve solved another mystery. Even if I were completely and utterly morally bankrupt, I wouldnât be able to manipulate Misa the way you want me to. I couldnât manipulate any woman that way. Not without a hell of a lot of mental gymnastics, anyway, and maybe the threat of torture as an incentive.âÂ
L says nothing. He never thought that Light would say so much, and he truly doesnât know where to go from here.
âNothing to say, Mr. Detective? I bet itâs still not enough for you. Not clear enough, or open enough, or honest enough, huh? I havenât cut open my stomach and spilled my guts on the floor in front of you, so you arenât satisfied. Fine. I suppose Iâd hate for you to think me a coward, as well as a liar. So howâs this?â
Light turns around again, meeting Lâs eyes with none of his typical kind-heartedness. None of his typical humanity.
âIâm gay.â
Still, L cannot speak. He can only stare. The moonlight pours down around Lightâs shiny hair, creating the faintest of halos.
âStill nothing to say, huh? Why so quiet?â Light jeers. He can be truly vengeful when he wants to be. âMaybe instead of uncovering everyone elseâs secrets, you ought to pay some attention to your own, detective.â
And with that, Light pulls the two of them to the computers, opens a browser window, and throws himself into research.
L tries to do the same, and finds himself a failure.Â
( like... lately Iâve been reading so many theories and opinions that Quillsh actually is a rather evil chracter and like... maybe he is??? maybe Iâm doing it all wrong?? h E L P????
also my writingâs shit and my vocabulary is painfully narrow.)
Someone suggested that the scene when Aizawa walks by Light and Naomi was actually foreshadowing a sequence that was eventually cut off because why make a big deal of him going by if you werenât going to use it. I thought it was simply a Hitchcockian moment to make you hold your breath for a second. What do you think?
Hereâs that scene in the manga, where Light has finally gotten Naomiâs real name and is writing it on Death Note paper:
I donât think this was meant to foreshadow any scene that was cut out primarily because itâs we the audience who are supposed to notice the close call, not Aizawa. In the panels where heâs getting closer, Aizawaâs view of Light and Naomi is obscured by the umbrella. As he goes past, his eyes are straight ahead and he looks occupied, focused in his thoughts. Lightâs back is to Aizawa as heâs coming down the street and Aizawa never turns around to see Lightâs face. So, this isnât going to be a moment he recalls later as any kind of âeureka!â simply because he didnât see it. I agree with you that itâs just meant to be an eerie coincidence, an example of how differently things could have gone if one piece of this story shifted slightly. Light was really lucky here but then so many charactersâ arcs in DN relied to a large degree on luck (good or bad).

Prompt:Â Light and Misa are Married and He Has a Successful Career but heâs seeing L on the Side
One Day is Today
Light looked at his watch in the dark and sighed heavily; this was always the most difficult part. He smiled at the head of wild, black hair lying on his chest and gently carded his fingers through it, the man to whom it belonged moving against his fingers.
âRyuzaki, Iâm sorry, but itâs time for me to go,â he said softly. The soft groan he received in answer made him feel even worse. âI know, butâŠâ
âYes, yes I understand,â Ryuzaki answered with a sigh and moved from Lightâs chest. âItâs the burden of being the other woman.â he chuckled softly. âAlways being left behind, but itâs worth it.â he added kissing Light softly, then moving the kisses down to Lightâs bare chest.Â
âPlease donât, this is difficult enough,â he said moving him away.
âAlright, Iâm sorry,â he said sitting up and smiling at him. âMaybe one day you wonât have to leave.â
Light smiled and kissed him softly.  âOne day, I promise.â he said and slid out of bed. Ryuzaki watched him find his clothes and hold up his boxers in horror. âWhat did you do?â he asked showing him the rip up the side.Â
Ryuzaki shrugged. âI was desperate, it has been a while since we were able to be together.â he answered with a grin.
âI know and I apologized; but things have been hectic lately andâŠâ
âYour wifeâŠâ Ryuzaki added running a hand through his hair, âShe gets you first, I know." Light looked away before sliding on the torn boxers.
"Itâs difficult right now, but it wonât always be. Things will be the way we want them soon.â he climbed back on the bed and kissed him again. âI do love you, Ryuzaki."  Ryuzaki moved away and slid out of bed himself, reaching for his own boxers.
"So you say,â he said with a smirk, âYou better hurry, itâs very late." Light nodded and finished getting dressed. "Would you meet me for breakfast in the morning before work?â he asked.
âPerhaps. What time would you like me to meet you and where?â Ryuzaki answered.
â8:00 a.m., at the restaurant next to the NPA building. Please?â
âSo close to work, what if one of your co-workers sees us?â he asked.
âWhat if they do, they canât look at us and know weâre sleeping together. Theyâll think weâre friends. Please, Ryuzaki?"Â
"Iâll think about it, Light. Now get out before she comes looking for you." Light sighed, went to him and kissed him again.
"8:00 Ryuzaki!â he said before running out of the door.Â
â8:00,â he said softly to the closed door.
Light arrived home, quietly got undressed and slid into bed beside his wife. Misa sighed and opened her eyes, smiling when she saw him.
âWorking hard for that promotion arenât you?â she said sleepily as she kissed his cheek before putting her arm around him.
âYes, sorry to wake you. Go back to sleep,â he told her and turned to his side away from her. She agreed and closed her eyes quickly falling back asleep as Light stared into the darkness, finally making a decision.
The next morning, he finished got dressedquickly, fixing his tie and making sure his hair was just right as he looked in the bathroom mirror.  Misa watched her husband from behind, a smirk on her face and her hands on her hips.
âYou donât take that much time getting ready when we go out,â she complained. Light looked at her thru the mirror and sighed.
âYes, well, most of our nights out involve me just being there while you deal with your people, the press, fansâŠno one really cares what I look like so it doesnât really matter.â She moved closer to him, putting her arms around his waist.
âIâm sorry Light, those things are boring, but I have to do them. Itâs much easier when youâre with me though.â  Light pulled out of her grasp and moved away.
âIâll be late tonight; theyâre throwing me a party to celebrate my promotion; just the guys,â he said cutting off the chance for her to ask to join him.
âIâm proud of you, the NPAâs youngest detective,â she said, âAre you sure I canât go with you?â he nodded quickly.
âYes, itâs just the guys,â he said with a small smile.
âMaybe when you come home we can have our own celebration,â she said reaching for him, âI promise we can do whatever you want; itâs been a while.â Light tried not to show the revulsion he felt at the idea. Sex with Misa, just like his entire marriage, was a duty, it was expected of him, but it wasnât something he particularly enjoyed. Especially since he had something so much better to look forward to these days.
âMaybe, Iâll just have to see how I feel when I get home,â he said moving away from her.Â
âIâll wear something special,â she said softly, âSomething I know youâll love.â
âYou do that,â he said grabbing his phone and moving toward the door.
âLight! Youâre not kissing me good-bye?â she asked and he stopped.
âOhâŠsorry,â he said moving back to her and giving her a quick peck before going back to the door. âGotta go, getting a new case.â He explained then stopped. âMisa, when I do get home, thereâs something important we need to discuss.â
âSure, but after we celebrate,â she said with a giggle, then watched him leave their apartment and practically run to his car. She moved away from the window and was surprised he hadnât touched his breakfast or his coffee. She chuckled to herself as she went to get dressed; he must be really excited about this new case to skip breakfast, she thought and giggled again.
âIâm sorry if Iâm late,â he said as he sat down across from the young man at the table. Large dark eyes rolled up from the coffee they had been staring at and looked at him.
âOf course youâre not late,â he said with a smile, âIâd be quite surprised if you were ever late.â Light smiled and reached under the table and took his hand.
âGood morning, Ryuzaki,â he said softly, âIâm glad you could meet me for breakfast.â
âHow could I not when you asked so nicely?â Ryuzaki answered squeezing Lightâs hand under the table. âBesides, I have to enjoy every moment we can have together, we donât have many.â Light sighed and pulled his hand away.
âIâm sorry, but Iâm trying to be more available. Between work andâŠâ
âYour wife,â Ryuzaki added as he sipped his coffee.
âYesâŠwellâŠthere is that,â he chuckled, âIâm sorry butâŠI promise, thatâs going to change.â He said and stopped when the waitress came to their table.   He ordered coffee and smirked when L ordered a chocolate crepe.
âFor breakfast?â he asked.
âFor any time,â Ryuzaki answered. âAfter six months, Iâm surprised youâre even questioning my tastes.â
âIâm not questioning, just slightly amused,â Light answered then reached under the table again. âI was saying that things were going to change.â Ryuzaki raised an eyebrow.
âChange? In what way? Should I be concerned?â he asked. Light shook his head.
âNo, not in that way. But Iâm tired of sneaking around with you, Ryuzaki. Itâs time to stop hiding. I always told you that one day I would work this out; today is that day.â
Ryuzaki pulled his hand away.
âAnd what would that do to the career of the youngest detective in the history of the NPA?,â he shook his head. âIâm not willing to put your career at risk because I wish to spend more time with you.â
âNothing. My father is the Deputy Director, nothing will happen. RyuzakiâŠI love you, Iâm tired of hiding it.â
âAnd your wife? Light, Iâm relatively content seeing you when I can; I understand the situation, I knew what it was when we became involved.â
âMy marriage never was a real marriage to me, I did what I had to do. I care about Misa but not like I love you; Iâm only happy when Iâm with you. I canât even bring myself to have sex with her anymore, all I can think about is being with you.â  Ryuzaki looked down at his coffee.
âI canât say that I havenât secretly wished for this, but now when you actually say it, it makes me realize what could be at stake for you,â he looked up at him. âPerhaps it is time I backed away.â Light squeezed his hand under the table tightly.
âDonât even joke about that,â Light told him leaning across the table, âNow that Iâve been with you I know what I want. Ryuzaki, donât you love me?â
Ryuzaki fought with himself for a few moments. If he told him he didnât it would hurt him, but it would keep him from risking his career and future for him; but he was sure Light knew better.
âYes, of course I do, you know this. Itâs why Iâm willing to share your time with your wife,â he answered truthfully.
âThen thatâs all I need to know. Trust me, everything will work out the way we want it to. It may take a little time, but Iâll make it work. In the meantime, thereâs a party tonight for me, and Iâm bringing you as my guest. And afterâŠâ
Ryuzaki smiled then let his tongue run over his lips.Â
âAfter there will be desert,â he finished squeezing Lightâs hand tightly. The waitress arrived with Lightâs coffee and his crepe. âBut at the moment, Iâm more interested in this crepe than you.â Â
Light laughed and let go of his hand, sitting back in his chair. He reached for his coffee and nodded to himself; he had definitely made up his mind, he belonged with Ryuzaki and he would do whatever necessary to make that happen.
Hi! I have a question because I seem to have missed something and Iâm asking you because Iâve been following for a while and I trust your posts and opinions Is there a question as to!whether or not Jensen and Misha had some kind of falling out? Knowing theyâre going to be together later on this month I find itâs not likely but where did this come from?
i donât think soâŠ. i believe itâs just coming from the fact that after spn ended, the pandemic stopped them from going to cons and seeing each other in person. and because they were no longer seeing each other every week at cons and during filming, itâs natural to assume theyâd grown apart. but i donât believe they had any falling out, they seem perfectly fine at the cons the last few years and with their photo ops and panels in person.
