Ok ignoring how long this has taken me to post bc i havent felt like writing it- heres a literal essay for yall- behold, my-

Doctor Strange fursona.

for yall to dunk on me for having. I love him dearly. He was a joint effort between myself and Citrus_demon on insta, the artist for 1-3 and 6! (pls go check his work out! He had to deal with me yapping about Strange for god knows how long to nail my ideas down LMFAOO. But he nailed it!!).

He does have a little lore unique to him, particularly why he look like that. One of my mini "pet peeves" (shut. It.) is when characters are furryd (furrified?) and people just slap details on them that "dont make sense" (theres obviously no wrong way to design a character as long as its not theft or.. yk.. 💀, i say peeve in jest ngl) for the entirety of the character's lore background right? For example, he has dragonesque features NOW- because he's dabbling in magic. But he wouldnt have always had them. Thats why they look like theyre unnaturally grafted onto him. Its kind of a.. DIFFERENT manifestation of the whole "magic at a cost" thing, just with a different twist. and totally wasnt an excuse for making him have scales on his hands so it allowed for his scars to remain visible cus you wouldnt see it thru fur lol.✋💀.

With this idea id imagine he'd fluctuate on how draconic he'd become based on a few different factors;

How long hes been "going at it".

If he doesnt perma die stupidly, he'd probably be almost fully dragon-ish (he'd retain some kitty ofc) by the time he'd reach TaO status. Writing this i just realized how fucked up a General Strange version could look thatd be sick LOL some kinda chimera lookin ass creature

What his current rank is within the mystic community.

Any outside influence (i.e. posession, shitty deals for more power, power absorption, etc).

Idk what any of that would necessarily would look. However yes, he can lose features as well. He can't ever go completely back to kitty, the dragon talons are the permanent thing for sure, its intertwined into his nerve damage now so they were separate, now they arent, but EVERYTHING else about him is variable and the type of magic he's using/the state of it will reflect with his appearance. So say, i.e. if his design was during Death of Magic, he'd probably have like, a lil gecko like tail (bc their tail is a nutrient preservation tool so if he's partially magic based- and he's storing magic right?!? LET ME COOK), torn up wings (covered by the blue/black drip ofc), broken/no horns, and very, very faded scales. One of these days ill com it lol. to satiate any curiosity, yes i have thought about it. immediate post car crash Strange has paws. Theyd be shaved bc anytime my cat has had surgery he gets fuckass shaves, he is ugly, and theyre hilarious.

For a baseline of WHEN his design is based on? Uhh id say like newbie sorcerer supreme, fresh off killing the mentor vibes yk 💀.

Dont even ask me why i chose a caracal for the base species cus idfk. My mind has just drifted towards that for years for some reason?? And to me it just fits stupid well?? Maybe bc theyre stuck up bitchy asshole cats. I've been cooking him up for a looong time but only recently got him drawn LOL.

Dragon fits stupid easily and was obvious other choice. Had it not been for my remark earlier about my need for it making sense in a lore standpoint (unless its a dragon based world... WoF!Strange when.) he would've been purely dragon but this fits soo much better imho. And dont think ive forgotten about that comment in that spider-man cartoon about "[wondering] what itd be like to be one", hes a fuzzy!! (i cant link it cus they made it PPV but i may have the clip somewhere if i can find it ill post it... Eventually...). Associations with magic, arrogance/pride, intelligence (questionable), stubbornness, (past) greed, and being lowkey a dick sometimes if even unintentionally? Bro literally larps as one wtf do you mean.

As for the rest of the characters, im literally stumped on what to make them. I've been trying for years to also make Clea but i cant figure out anything i like. Im considering a kirin? Maybe a deer. I thought about making Dormmamu some kind of elk or goat but again.. not sure. I did consider a shoebill. Dont ask why. I couldnt tell ya. Idk why but Wong gives caiman tegu vibes LMFAOOOO. I love tegus (reptiles are my favorites. My main sona is a crocodile). Nightmare is a unicorn, not gonna go the extra mile there LMFAOOO. May make TAO some extinct species or somethin. Like semi recently gone-extinct one. Possibly a pyrenean ibex? I do have plans for the mindless ones. im keeping them secret for now until i can get them drawn 👀. If you have suggestions for the others (the ones listed included) im more than willing to listen!! My ask box is open!

Sorry for how long this is! Tysm if you've read all the way through!! I have way more stuff i can put but obviously... This is a lot as is XD. Id love to yap all day but maybe id better save it for another..

With the help of Jean Grey, Doctor Strange manages to free the man by defeating Dormammu with the Mysterium coin. Also, Dormammu's defeat at the hands of the Guardians of the Galaxy is referenced in this comic.

Doctor Strange #10 - "Remittance" (2019)

It’s easy to rank movies based off of how good they are or how much you like them, but Doctor Strange as a film means a lot to me personally.

On a surface level it’s important because it was the first date I went on with my girlfriend. We started dating the last week of October, and then we went to see the movie together when it came out. That definitely made it something worth remembering.

But on a deeper level it impacted me emotionally. I’ve always struggled with a compulsive need to control everything due to some stuff, and it became something that contributed to my major depressive spell. I was uncomfortable all the time and I felt that I was losing my grips on reality.

And when that happened two lines in particular came to mind from Doctor Strange and they were both spoken by the Ancient One.

At one point Strange is struggling to understand how to do magic and they have the following conversation.

“You cannot beat a river into submission. You have to surrender to its current, and use its power as your own."

"I... I control it by surrendering control? That doesn't make any sense."

"Not everything does. Not everything has to.”

The idea of releasing control in order to gain mastery and internal peace really spoke to me when I was struggling with some of my impulses. Then it was followed up by this quote.

“It’s not about you.”

It’s something so simple but it made me rethink my obsession with control and realize that it wasn’t about me. I can’t control everything and it’s not my place to even try.

Those two lines had such an impact on me. Whenever I struggled the words would come back to me and I rethought my place and my interactions with the world and it allows me to be more centered in my thoughts and feelings and realize that sometimes you just have to let things happen in order to gain control of the self.

I still think about these lines a lot and I’m still learning from their meaning.

It seems so quaint to learn a valuable life lesson from a movie, but it truly had a major impact on my life and how I interact with others and process my own thoughts.
