#doom!!!

Bloom's not sure what to do with herself around Andreas. He's a burly man, with a horrid temper and calloused hands, who takes a lot of pride in the pain he inflicts.

And yes, she's a clumsy woman who takes up too much space and always seems ill fitting and she's got a temper just as bad and hands that burned down houses and when she killed those burned ones, she felt an euphoria that nothing's been able to match, but that doesn't mean they fit together. No, not at all.

But where her fears have teeth and her darkness is just a childish attempt of showing her claws to all those doubts and terrors, Andreas' darkness is different, it's wet, it's pungent like a smell that clings to her clothes and like a burning that lingers in her skin where he touches her with hands that are rough and coarse.

It clings to her hair and it's stuck in the roof of her mouth, like an annoying piece of sickening caramel, tinging everything she eats, every word that comes out.

When she does speak with him, there's a condescending glint in his eyes, a tug on the corner of his lips making a permanent smirk, something that says "hi little girl", something that says "I'm gonna eat you alive"

And Bloom's been nothing if not drawn to danger from day one, never a coward, never the type to flee, so she says hi back and she raises her chin in defiance and she reminds him, hands clasped around his wrist, that she's no damsel, no red riding hood, as his skin gets warmer and warmer under her fingers and his smile slips down.
