#doll help

Help! My dollfie dream boy is getting mysterious stains? The spots on his face are the biggest concern. They're just a bit darker in person than the picture shows. As you can see in the 3rd image, his hair is NOT touching the area and he has no other stains where his hair DOES touch to indicate it's the wig. So it really seems spontaneous from like.. the air. For his hand i really dont know what it could be either tho, as this stain is very blue and his coat was NOT touching him there. He has no other stains on that hand nor does the other hand have any. These stains legitimately seem to be from nowhere. Has anyone else seen this happen to Dollfie Dreams??

I just made a reddit account for the first time to try to get some rainbow high doll advice. I wrote out a whole thing, only for my question to get auto removed a few seconds after posting and idk why (: so i guess reddits a bust... ill try posting my question here instead.

I ask again: Is my Harley's hair fried?

So I have this Harley Limestone…

When I first got her I noticed her hair was very puffy, and she had some hair that was damaged pretty high up and visible from the front, so I decided to try to boil wash her hair to try to get it to lay straight and fix some of the damaged hair.

I'm scared that the water may have been too hot now though.

I washed her hair free of gel and put conditioner in it beforehand.

I heated up some water to boiling, took it off the heat for a little bit, then stuck her hair in it directly. When I did this, I noticed her hair puff out in the water. This scared me, because I thought the hair was frying, so I took it out and poured cool water over it immediately.

I brushed her hair out wet, and when it dried it seemed mostly the same as it was before, except that now the ends feel dry and are difficult to brush tangles out of. I can't run my fingers through her hair without them getting caught in the ends. I have other dolls with straight hair and its not like that with them. Some of the damaged hairs that were visible in the front are less noticeable now, but there are still a lot of damaged (pulled from brushing, frizzy) hairs that were not fixed.

Honestly, it's not the end of the world. The big hair look is kind of fitting for a glam rocker. I'm just disappointed because I hoped that boil washing could be a way for me to fix damaged hair with out cutting it in other dolls that I have too.

I want, very badly, to make Disco Elysium Kim and Harry doll customs. Of course I’m running into a huge problem with this which is: their tragically unique face shapes and stylized proportions. Both face and body.

Typically when I do male doll repaints I use BTS dolls (bc I like their slightly larger than Barbie proportions) or the new Disney ILY dolls, and on occasion make minor sculpting edits to feminine face sculpts to suit my needs. This works for most of what I’ve done (ocs, the mandalorian, stuff like that) but I’m in a corner here. I have several options but none are great.

- I could use one of the two that I usually do and make some large alterations and pray for the best. If I choose to do that I’m going to have to find decent base dolls which I don’t doubt I can do. Pros are it’s within my comfort level, cons are it’s very limited.

- Monster/Ever after high. They have very stylized sculpts but their proportions are just a bit *too* much in terms of my preference. So I could shrink some monster high high heads and go from there. Pros are it’s also familiar and closer to the stylization I need, cons are shrunken heads are more difficult to work with and risk breaking to achieve the size I want.

- Third option is to sculpt and print/cast unique face molds, which is not a prospect I’m excited about but is something I am feasibly capable of. Pros is I can guarantee the most accuracy with the least need to make alterations, cons are I have very minimal experience with this so I have to fucking LEARN shit while also asking for a favor to print/mold/cast/whatever the final results.

-secret fourth option where someone smarter than me knows a doll that would make the perfect base
