Not All Treats Are Safe: Foods That Can Hurt Your Dog
We’ve all been there—those puppy dog eyes staring up at you during dinner. It’s tempting to share a little bite, but some human foods can be really dangerous for dogs. I recently learned this the hard way and wanted to share what I found out, so others don’t have to panic like I did.
Here are a few foods to absolutely keep away from your pup:
🍫 Chocolate – Not just a little treat. It’s toxic and can cause vomiting, tremors, even seizures.
🍇 Grapes & Raisins – Can cause kidney failure, even in small amounts.
🧄 Onions & Garlic – Harm red blood cells and may cause anemia.
🍬 Xylitol (in sugar-free gum, PB, and more) – Can be deadly. Causes a dangerous blood sugar drop.
🍺 Alcohol – Even small sips are a big no.
🍗 Cooked bones – They can splinter and seriously hurt your dog’s stomach.
☕ Caffeine – Too much energy? Yep, but not the good kind.
🌰 Macadamia nuts – Cause weakness, vomiting, and other scary symptoms.
