Okay, so I've seen some takes on how Scott, Hayden, Svetlana, Shane's parents etc. maybe could clock that either:
Shane or Ilya are gay
Shane and Ilya are together
But what I really would love to see explored in fics is if either of their friends realized that Shane or Ilya are gay and that they have feelings for the other, but not that they are together.
Like, Hayden realizing that Shane is into dudes, and one dude specifically, but not that it's reciprocated. So he goes around thinking Shane has the worst crush ever and his need to murder Ilya increases a 1000 fold.
Or Svetlana putting the pieces together about how weird Ilya is when it comes to Shane + already knowing he's into dudes. But without clocking that Shane = Jane, she's maybe just concluding that he's trying to fuck his way out of a disaster crush.
Or Scott clocking one of them being into the other, but his imagination doesn't stretch far enough to think that they may actually be together, so he is just watching the emotional train wreck thinking about whether he has any responsibility to interfere in the madness or if he should just stay as far away as possible.
(And of course combined with the actual realizations would be top tier)
