Back at the loom - weaving with heritage sheep breed wool
Hey weavers who like Harry Potter! Hey Potterheads who like potter lore! So there's this loom called a Dobby loom because when it was first invented, a "draw boy" had to sit at the top of the loom to draw up the harnesses. "Draw boy" became Dobby and the name stuck. I know Dobby is an old English name and I've seen some other theories about where our fav elf got his name. But! Can you imagine little baby Dobby sitting on top of a magical loom as his first job? And the name just stuck even after he moved on?
uncut deflected double weaves off the dobby loom! the plan is to choose my favourites and then incorporate some laser-cut acrylic to blend synthetic materials with the natural fibres :)
