It’s wonderful to work on a hide commission again~~~

The right side is his warm hide accessed from the front, on top of the hide on the right is a ‘bowl’ for sleeping, basically a hide without a top it’s my geckos favorite spot to curl up outside of his hides while still feeling safe and enclosed.

YES, YOU ARE!

I'm!! so excited!! I might cry!!! It still needs more layers of sealant, but I decided to carefully put it together to make sure the pieces would still fit well, and it looks really good, I think!! I don't know if it totally looks like a termite mound but it's close enough for a first project to make me happy! I really, really hope Charis likes it and fits in it.

I wish the front small spire was a little less puffy, but didn't want to lose the texture cutting it down. Other than that and a couple other minor quirks, I'm pretty happy with it so far! Hopefully the grout goes well.

Second layer mostly on this section. I might've gone too thick too soon? I'm not sure. I've looked at a few guides but still dunno. It feels like it wipes off so easily - the first (dry) layer was getting rubbed off where I was holding it while doing the second one. Not sure if the second layer will stick better once it's dry? I'm mostly looking how it's going, just anxious it'll come out uneven and weird looking.

I do still have a ton of Styrofoam board too, so maybe I'll just do something simpler with all of that. It'll be okay if I do something else for now and revisit the termite mound idea with her next viv, giving myself more time & remembering what I've learned and what Heather wrote up when it comes to the grout.
