Please.
If your dog or cat is vomiting multiple times in a short time span, please go to the vet. This is not normal.
If they can't keep food down, please go to the vet.
One of my favorite patients died yesterday because the owners just thought her stomach was upset for the last few days.
I don't want ANY hate directed at them. This is a common mistake, and one that doesn't always end this way. But it ends this way frequently enough that the risk really isn't worth it.
So please, learn from this tragedy.
My dog almost died a couple weeks ago from a severe allergic reaction. The only super obvious symptom was vomiting. I knew she'd been stung by a bee, but I didn't know the vomiting was a sign of anaphylaxis until I got her to the emergency vet. Thankfully she's back to normal now, but there's a world where I waited to see how she was in the morning and I'm very glad I didn't wait.
Ah, yes. This is something I tell clients to watch for with their puppies and kittens after they get vaccines
One of, and often one of the first, major signs of anaphylaxis in animals is sudden, profuse vomiting and/or diarrhea, typically within the first hour after contact with the allergen.
They're gonna be so spoiled with fresh forage all summer & then so sad when winter hits. They got grass, plantain, dandelion, and raspberry leaves today.
Jack also added their first cage furnishings! Both boys are enjoying hiding under them & have climbed on top too! We have a couple other things planned to get, but won't be cluttering the cage up much since that can cause more fighting. They've been doing REALLY great, it's been at least 5-6 days since I've seen any bullying behavior.
We did also make them sad today though, with nail trims. Posy just needed a little clipping, but Rosy's poor nails are still in bad shape since previous owners didn't trim them. It's gonna take some time to get the quicks on the back nails to go down some. And he squealed at us at one point, Very Sad, how could we torture a Baby like this? :(
Around the world, 84% of 16- to 25-year-olds currently experience climate anxiety. Here is some real-world advice to help soothe that fear.
This is obviously a really complicated topic that can't just be addressed in a single list, but there are some really good tips here and they draw from some excellent leaders/activists in this area.
If this is something that you need today, I hope this list can direct you to some good resources to draw on in the future!
From the article:
For many of us, anxiety and depression stemming from the climate crisis have become nearly ubiquitous with the plight of modern life. We deliver quippy one-liners about the world being on fire, share memes about how âcookedâ we are amid these perilous âend times,â and perhaps most disturbingly, feel completely incapable of doing anything about it. But while this prevailing theme is unsettling, it also echoes a silver lining: We arenât alone in these feelings.
Idk why my family still goes along with my bullshit with getting new animals bc it quickly turns into

Nerds got grass today & devoured it. They're continue to settle really well!! Seen very little punk behavior yesterday or today. And they're still loving the masses of hay + zoomy room.
Finished up their 20lb box of meadow hay tonight, just in time for the 50lb box that's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to see how long that much lasts!
Listening to this British "supporting nature in changing climate" book & waiting for the author to mention cats being allowed to indiscriminately hunt & mess with wildlife like
If you see this youâre legally obligated to reblog and tag with the book youâre currently reading
The boys peacefully shared their veggies tonight!!! Still occasional punk episodes from Posy, but they still seem to be doing well. Haven't taken them out for closer exam yet, but visually both look good, relaxed, eating, etc. And normal poops when I did a spot clean tonight.

OH MY GOD The dog on the right, black and white?? What breed are they??!
I lost my Sami this week, and the whole 9 years she was with me, I could never find out her breed! She was a recuse of a rescue, etc )
The whole time since I had to put her down, Iâve scoured the Internet, searching for other dogs who look like her. Are they rare??
Please, if you could give me any information, I would be so grateful!!
I'm so sorry for your loss! If she was a rescue though, it's pretty likely she was a mixed breed, not any one in particular. Emma, the black & white one here, is a mix of a lot of breeds. We haven't gotten an embark done on her, but her sister's had like 4 different terriers + chihuahua and a couple other things. Depending on how big your Sami was, maybe look at terrier/chi mixes?

So far, so good..... lots of chasing, trying to hump each other, etc. But both are still nibbling at hay, Posy has stopped to groom a couple times. No major fights yet, but still definitely trying to work out who's going to be boss pig. Been about 20 minutes or so I think? Planning to be hanging out here for a couple hours, I think.
Posy is showing more intimidation behavior, but seems more punk-ish and like. Silly about it? Idk he seems more relaxed in between interactions. Rosy is quick to say "fuck you" & seems more no nonsense so far. I actually think he may end up being boss pig, it feels so much like Posy keeps fucking with him just to try it. đ They did eat right next to each other for a few seconds though! I think it's going pretty well....
Ending the night with still doing pretty good! They're getting more bored with harassing each other (by which I mean Posy is getting more bored), and yelling more at the humans for better snacks when we go near or in the room. No veggies tonight, but I scattered a few handfuls of pellets into the hay after fluffing it up & adding more orchard grass hay.
Also Rosy is noticeably more chill with us than before, which we were hoping for! Tomorrow we'll try to catch & take them both out for quick exams to make sure there's no bites or anything from overnight. I'd like to get weights on them too, we haven't done so for Rosy yet.

even before i lived in a place with a massive population of feral cats decimating the wildlife i had read the studies and knew the data said that TNR did not work and we need to be trapping and euthanizing feral cats but now that iâve lived in a place where there are an enormous number of feral cats itâs like, inconceivable to me that anyone supports TNR, not just for the health of the world but for the sake of the fucking cats
nobody will even acknowledge it not even in most conservation circles. We have a solution to a massive, massive problem that is more humane, cheaper, easier, takes less time, prevents animal suffering, and saves valuable members of our disappearing ecosystem. And nobody is even willing to theoretically acknowledge that it exists outside of a few very small circles.
it works. It works. It is better for the cats. Itâs better for the cats. Living in a place where you cannot drive 10 minutes without seeing a new roadkill cat almost every single day really makes you think about how much suffering could have been prevented if we just dealt with the problem we have created. Itâs not a pleasant way to go, being hit by a car. Or being ripped apart by a predator, or eating a poison, or starving to death, of dying of an infection, or an illness, or any of the hundred thousand ways an animal in the wild passes without human intervention. Euthanasia is simply falling asleep. It is fucking wild to me that saying you think we should take responsibility for our mistakes and ensure that cats fall asleep peacefully instead of capturing them and then hurling them back out into the world SPECIFICALLY in order to allow them to die in agony makes people treat you like a fucking serial killer.
And if you donât care about cats dying in agony do you care about the world around you? Thereâs a species of bird we only know ever existed because someoneâs cat brought home our only example. Thatâs horrific. Weâve lost so much biodiversity because we simply wonât listen to the research, which again, has proven that TNR is not effective.
a peaceful death is not the worst thing that could happen to an animal.

Not a reference so much as the human society actively admitting that TNR does nothing to decrease population, actively contributes to harming wildlife, and doesnât actually help the cats in any way, just reduces some of the nuisance behavior that people complain about: https://www.animalhumanesociety.org/resource/real-impacts-trap-neuter-return

From the Nashville Zooâs fb page! Hereâs the petition, please please please take a moment to add your name (even if youâre not from Nashville!). If you are from Tennessee, contact your representatives and make it clear that the people do not want this data center. This is an AZA accredited zoo which is home to several species of critically endangered animals, we NEED to protect it. Make your voice heard!
Because people will pay attention to cute animals, here are some of the critically endangered/endangered species housed at the Nashville Zoo!
The Amur Leopard and Clouded Leopard (which recently celebrated its 50th cub born at the zoo!)
The Sumatran Tiger
The Red Ruffed Lemur and Ring-Tailed Lemur
The Cotton-Top Tamarin and White-Cheeked Gibbon
The Colobus Monkey and De Brazzaâs Monkey
And the Mexican Spider Monkey!
Look at them!!!! Look at them and fight like hell to save them!!!!
A blurry man! Who stayed out in the open when I entered my room & let me give head pets in exchange for a cookie. Still skittish, but I'm slowly winning him over with many food bribes.
Tomorrow he gets to meet Posy, as we're setting up the horizontal critter nation & doing intros for them. Wish us luck! I'm very anxious & really hope they'll do okay.
