✨NEW✨ I drew Namigengorou-kun, a diving beetle.

The sylvan hygrotus diving beetle can be classified under which taxonomic group coleopteran, (request Coleoptera), any individual from the bug request Coleoptera, comprising of the scarabs and weevils. It is the biggest request of bugs, addressing around 40% of the known bug species.

Diving Beetle (Genus Dytiscus) at my parents' farm last weekend. These Beetles spend both larval and adult life stages in water and both larvae and adults are predators of other aquatic insects. The individual in the photograph is a female, which can be noted by the grooves on its elytra (hardened outer wings). omg! Look at his adorable little suction-cupped tarsi! You can see the one next to his right eye really well. They use these for mating and catching prey. This little dude was swept into Lake Michigan from Otter Creek as well. He was at least as big as the baby snapper! #dytiscidae #divingbeetle (at Esch Road Beach)
