As much as I love Eve and Gigi and Slate as a trio, it only makes sense for Avery to give the speech at Eve’s funeral.
Just look at the headlines and which one catches your attention.

Like yes yes Slate deserved it, but Avery catches attention, and that’s what the goal was.
What did like about the book and what did you not like and would have changed
I liked rohannah, I liked and hated the random things she threw in to make us suffer and then she cleared them up like the Hannah thing. I liked Nora, I liked Knox and Gigi, I liked how casual lyrason were, I liked how minimal yet deep Javery got in just a couple of scenes, I liked the Zella parts and the fact that the crucible members become like sisters after going through such suffering, and I liked a lot of other stuff too.
I would’ve changed almost all of Eve’s arc, changed some of Gigi’s and made her more prevalent instead of what JLB did, and I would’ve given Gigi and Mattias more scenes together. I would’ve had the epilogue be a ball instead of a wedding in honor of everything everyone went through in that short time and we could’ve just gotten small conversations from the different couples. I would’ve had more explanation on what happened inside the crucible and the trials and all that, maybe an explanation on why Emily’s there, and yeah that’s all I can think of for now.

Hmmm well it wasn’t bad it was just a bit random
Like the concept was good but it needed some more time to develop because like there needed to be more introductions with people like Slate, because Avery has never met Mattias soooo
Also there was a good point that this felt kind of forced and pressured for Avery
Like yes it’s a very Jameson thing to do, and if looked at vaguely it’s romantic too and fun. But Avery should’ve been at least somewhat informed that the wedding was actually happening
Like maybe he could’ve just said “oh Avery we’re going to have our wedding very fast and soon” as that but there wasn’t even that much of a heads up there was none
But hey the concept was nice it could’ve been done better tho

Simply because no one actually saved her and also in that situation no one had any control on anything. The cult was in charge of pushing everything into a certain direction so noooo

Lyrason still very cool
I already said this but I think JLB finished them in tgg and was just making it clearer that they were—one, really attached, and two, accepted by everyone—so they didn’t have much of an arc. But I likeddd them stilllll they were so normal and casual
