It had been a long night, and he needed a drink. He headed into the small hole in the wall dive. It was just his style, because dive bars usually meant cheap booze and since he’d quit stealing, that was all he could afford… When he could afford it.

He had enough in his pocket for a drink or two; but he figured a bit of charm might score him a drink or two from some lonely heart, desperate enough to trade drinks for company.

Spike ventured his money for his first round and ordered up a whiskey neat. Well booze it was, as long as it gave him some relief from hunting down other demons for one night.

I'm happy I got to see the Weedy Seadragons (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) in the wild at Flinders Pier:)

Last year April I dived at Portsea Pier, Mornington Peninsula I missed out seeing them. I got an opportunity to come back to Melbourne and glad I got the chance to dive again, though a few degrees colder. Thanks to my friends for linking me up with divers @melbourne_uni_underwater_club 🤿

Weedy Seadragons inhabit the coastal temperate waters of Australia at kelp-covered rocky reefs. Same family as seahorses but are larger, more mobile and tend to orient at a more horizontal angle.
