I am so mad and upset about the Tinker Bell Casting in the live action Disney remake. How dare they! The actual absolute audacity they had in casting.
Tinker Bell was the first main character in a Disney story to display body insecurities. The iconic mirror scene where she discovers how big her hips are then later ends up strapped in a drawer because of them. Her curves are a very iconic part of her character identity in the Disney universe.
As someone who has grown up with a similar body type who was constantly fat shamed even though I wasnât even fat looked up to her. Suddenly in the past few years this body type has become a trend but that doesnât change the years I spent having to endure shame for my own body.
I donât care if sheâs black, white, Latina, Indian, trans or lesbian. What does matter is the fact that Disney cast a size four actress to play a curvy role. Yara Shahidi is a beautiful actress and yes she would be amazing playing a different roll in a film. Sheâs beautiful but a size four is skinny and without the iconic Tinkerbell curves. Representation matters. You did a beautiful job casting Ariel especially with her knock out vocal skills. Why couldnât you have done justice to Tinker Bell and all the girls that had a body like hers growing up that wasnât considered beautiful until the Kardashians said so.

Madoka (Snow) Magica Disney Casting
Snow White - Madoka Kaname (I wanted Anna or Rapunzel but once you see who I casted, you'll understand. I still think Snow White is still pure enough to fit her)
Elsa- Homura Akemi (I don't like incest ships and I believe the Rapunzel is related to Anna and Else theory soo yeah. She's the closest a Disney Princess has gotten to be a villain and Homura is practically a villain at this point)
Mirabel (Idk if I count her as a princess but I think their sitautions are similar) - Sayaka Miki (I think Mirabel and Sayaka are two sides of the same coins, one's story ended tragically while the other's persevered)
Moana - Kyoko Sakura (remove a layer of Kyoko's rudeness and they also had similar sitautions)
Rapunzel - Mami Tomoe (proud leaders character who struggles underneath)
Bellweather - Kyubey (make her tons more indifferent to things and you can see it)
