Despite my distaste for the chaos of Dimension 20, I was actually onboard for most of the finale of "City Council of Darkness" up to and including rolling all those dices for the missile damages on Jack of the Pines. It all felt organic and the culmnation of the coterie effort in befriending the other supernatural forces of Purpee. The clown bit was funny without being intrusive. I don't have respect for Vampire the masquerade purist's opinion, as if Al Capone is not an 8th generation Ventrue.
Past that point however, it completly lost me. The ad hoc mechanics killed the tension, the bits were too ludicrous to be funny and the story revelation were not interesting. It felt into the trappings that make this show unpleasant to watch at time. It ended abbruptly too, with no resolution on the election of new city council members. Although given the tone of the finale, maybe it's for the best, because either the resolution would have carried that tone (which I would hate) or it would go back to a more serious place (which would be jarring).
