That line is one of my favourites and basically the basis of my specific brand of Max/Daniel (honestly think I need to be like Martin and reassess myself: I too, am a hopeless romantic)
I think he had a wardrobe overhaul bc he's not sponsored by Hugo/AlphaTauri/whoever anymore. Mentioned it to his dirtbiking buds and they said he should drop in to Bass Pro. Maybe when he was all alone hiking in Texas post breakup he sweat through all his stuff and just went and got a load of stuff to wear! Also the camo stuff probably fits his US culture boner so well π΅βπ«π€
this is actually something i've talked about with friends in terms of his retirement era. daniel has definitely always been full of personality and uniqueness, but for the first time in his life, he's not tied to sponsorships and brand deals and the need to look a certain way and be camera ready all the time. and then now he gets to just be....whatever. i do not personally like the beard, but i like that he likes the beard.....if that makes any sense. and he's just figuring out his aesthetic. figuring out what he likes and dislikes. is it bright orange bass pro shop caps and matching camo jackets. is it short shorts still. is it a white button down t-shirt and one of his many fancy watches. he's just getting to actually...fully...wholeheartedly, be who he wants to be each day and i think thats quite nice.
he should try on a skirt one day though. add that to the agenda daniel x
