Recently a friend of mine told me that we are different. Because guys are suppose to be different from girls. (PS. Might write out of point) (PS. Again, bad grammar alert)
Then i thought why. Sure we may be different, but we are still human. We both have a heart, a brain, a set of lungs and many things. We grow hair, we breath in air, we smile and we feel emotions.Â
So i wonder again, why is it that people think they are superior to others.Â
I mean, why do people think they are more superior than other people. We are, after all, people.Â
Is it because that they are males? and they feel they have dominance over females?
Is it because they have good looks? Or they are Rich? or they are popular? or is it because they have some imaginary power? like the government or the president?
why do we, human beings, look down on one another while we are the same?
Sure, i don't have strikingly great looks. i am not rich nor am i smart. But why does that have to make us any different?Â
So, after watching many shows, reading many books. I concluded that, we are not different at all. It just so happens that many people like to take that advantage where they can make others do their bidding.
Violence, Status, Blackmailing or Majority-Wins. These are some facts that i always think of when it comes to dominance and differences.
Hitting someone is wrong, yet Domestic violence happens. Some people say that it's not our business and we shouldn't interfere. so why isn't it our business when people go around hitting other people? Much less, killing another person or animal. We don't own one another, well aside from our parents.
Bullying happens too. Kids would make fun of other kids, just because they look different, talk different, act different. So what exactly is a Normal kid? A kid who talks normally? a kid who is healthy and not struck with some sort of mental issues? Why would kids want to laugh at anyone for being different? or even avoid? Does being popular helps with being normal? Is it because that being in a group and you are it's queen bee or king Arthur, does that make you feel normal and more powerful?Â
Why couldn't people tell right from wrong? And what is there to gain from insulting others? Does it give you any form of superiority ? I guess not.. they don't sprout out wings all of a sudden, or they don't gain money from making fun of people. so why be afraid of them? And what do they gain in return? That feeling of being someone more 'powerful' ?
I mean , sure, there are other people who are way bigger than you and they can probably squash you into a pulp in a few hours (if they try). But that doesn't mean that smaller people are inferior. Yet, there are smaller sized human being bullying larger size people. Why do we assume that bigger size people are disgusting? why do we assume scrawny kids are always easy to bully? why do we assume that bullies are the meanest people around? just because they ask for your lunch money? you can always say no. Sure they will beat you up and all, but that doesn't mean you can't find a way and knock him back. a few punches should be enough. If you watch Gotham, you know what i mean.Â
How does Money makes you more normal than others? Sure, money means 'power' in a sense. The more money you have, the more things you can buy. Even though money 'runs' the world, but how does that make us a better human being? You can be rich with a dumb kind of attitude or you can be rich with a great attitude. same goes for the average and poor. I mean, in death, you're not going to bring all that money with you to anywhere in the afterlife. Sure it does make your life much easier in a sense. But how will it affect us in being normal? does being rich means you are the most normal 'normal' person around?Â
Blackmailing? Correct me if i'm wrong. It happens when someone wants to leak someone else's secret or something. Right? Sure it may be a secret, but eventually someone will know. Plus, whats the point of keeping it hidden from everyone? Sure some people will make fun of others for their secret, but people have got to know that they are not the only one who do those kind of things, or are those kind of things. So what if you're gay? There is nothing wrong with being gay. how does that make us any different? You breath in the same air as i do, so does your parents! you just happen to like the same gender, and you're not the only one on the planet who does that. Look at how many straight people there are! They are not the only one who like people from the other gender. Just be yourself! IF someone else found out that you love to burst bubble warp even though u are at the age of 18, so be it! There are bound to be people who enjoy bursting bubble wraps even at the age of 18 or so. (I'm guilty about this. Hohoho~)
So what exactly make us different from one another? Sure we don't look the same, we don't come from the same family, i'm asian and you're not. You come from america and i come from singapore. You practice this religion and i practice that religion, or is it because i'm a guy and you are a girl? So why and how are we different from one another? All i see is that, Human beings, us. Just need a little roll to get the snowball moving down the slope. Sure, we might not start off the same size or the same shape, but we will reach the end somewhere.
We are all the same, because everyone starts from that same slope.
