“Take a jacket!” - Every mom ever. I was recently reminded of this lesson by a friend that probably learned the same lesson on the same day. I’m definitely a fan of the outdoors, but by no means would I consider myself the super outdoorsy type BUT I might be getting there at this point. Either way, wearing long sleeves and longer leggings to go on hikes always makes me feel better and more comfortable when I get to uncomfortable spots along the hike. One factor that’s undeniably involved in all that outdoor stuff is bugs… Now I’m sure absolutely no one is huge fan of being bitten my mosquitoes or any other type of bug, but I’d much rather go the extra length to prevent getting bitten rather than trying to soothe it afterwards so I wear long articles of clothing as a barrier. Even when it’s hot. Depending on the weather, I will wear more breathable leggings and lighters jacket. #lesson18 just reinforces moms’ advice. Always bring a jacket. Whether you keep it in your car or your backpack, just be sure to have the option. I had a jacket with me everywhere I went on my trip and had a heavier one in the car just in case one got wet or I needed an extra layer. OR I needed to fend off major bug attacks🙂. On #day2 we went to an island surround by mountains and still waters. It also happened to have skies filled with swarms of flying bugs. They were small but oh so annoying. Key note: don’t just take a jacket but one with a hood! My light zip up jacket with a hood came in perfect hand when I stepped out of the car. I retreated my entire head into my hood and pulled it closed with hands leaving a small hole just to see where I was stepping and only coming out for pictures. So mom was totally right (as always…) TAKE. A. JACKET. Those bugs did eventually go into hibernation or whatever they do when it becomes a bit cooler in the day. We were able to enjoy a gorgeous sunset with beautiful backgrounds and couldn’t have laughed more about the day. Still got bit! But far fewer times for the amount of bugs we encountered haha. #sameisland #differentside #differentsky #utah #optoutside🌲 #antelope #utahbeach #mountainscape #livestronger #becomemore #connectingdots #atpeace (at Utah) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxgbabdFh30/?igshid=15k87sqax8gqn
