Don’t you wish you could buy a video game and have 100% of your money go to the creators who made it and not the company itself?
A game could have infuriating anti-consumer practices or the company treated their developers like slaves and you don’t want to support any of that shit.
But at the same time, it’s still a cool new game that looks fun to play.
However, you don’t want to not pay money for it. Pirating the game so the company gets nothing would clash with my morals, even if it’s 100% justified. The developers who did all the actual hard work on the game deserve to be paid for their work.

Okay I lied that I wouldn’t have anything cool to show this week!
I got really inspired and spent pretty much the entire day on Sunday making the first bowling screen animation, and I’m super happy with how it turned out! And I somehow still got some music done for @vivariumgame too.
I want to make it so that as you achieve more difficult feats of bowling you get increasingly absurd bowling screen animations. Although there are no fail states in the game I still want to reward skilled players, and these little animations can be one of those little prizes. So if you get a turkey you’ll get a special animation, maybe something really special if you get a perfect game, etc.
I just got The Animator’s Survival Kit and a figure drawing book from the library so I’m going to be reading those and improving my skills parallel to working on game programming. Maybe I’ll do some fanart of my favorite up-and-coming indie games for practicing the new techniques I’m learning.

I’m a bit sad
I found out early this morning that AlphaDream, the developer of the Mario & Luigi RPG series filed for bankruptcy. I loved all the older games, even Dream Team was pretty good, but I never finished Paper Jam and never picked up the remakes of Superstar Saga or Bowser’s Inside Story got the 3DS. I guess I kinda saw it coming, because their last few releases had been on a downward spiral, but it was a good run while it lasted.
Question: Why are PHP developers paid the good salary?
Answer: Because they put $ before every variable.
