Imagine this: The hyper-mundane, urban chaos of Bizarre Boroughs brought to life by Devin Clark, the original artist behind Ugly Americans. π€―
Think sentient staplers, cycloptic street vendors, and a subway car driven by a well-dressed raccoonβall in that perfect, weirdly-familiar, brilliantly-off-kilter style. It's the kind of art that makes you feel like you're already living in the city's strangest neighborhoods. It's a joke, but also... not?

Day 4 in our 19-day feature series is this sneak peek snippet of Sunnyside, a 17 x 31 inch acrylic on antique bread-board by Anthony Freda. Freda collages, paints and builds on found and antique objects, carefully chosen so that their history, shape and texture can add a layer of meaning to the imagery, and ultimately the message, that he chooses. The Devil's Carnival, a 2-person exhibit with Devin Clark and Anthony Freda, opens Friday, March 7th at Bunnycutlet Gallery.
Day 3 in our 19-Features-In-19-Days is this sneak peek snippet of a 25 x 21 inch acrylic painting by the artist Devin Clark entitled, of course, The King. Clark's signature painting style is influenced by tattoo art, comics, and Mexican folk art. Painting his radiating dots is both decorative as well as curative. The artist writes, "Painting is my therapy. It is such an analog process. I get to hold onto this chunk of wood and mush color all over it with a brush." Kicking off our 19-peeks-in-19-days promo series for The Devil's Carnival is this FULL RELEASE of one of two exhibition title images, a 24 x 24 inch acrylic on wood painting entitled You Win, by Devin Clark. Clark's signature graphic style is inspired by the counter-culture scene, beginning to emerge in the 80's, that surrounded him as a child. Growing up on the border of South Philly and Center City, Clark's proximity to punk rock clothing booths, tattoo parlors, arcades, indie-theaters, skate shops and comic book stores provided the young artist with an exciting array of cultural obsessions that would continue to inform his work throughout his career. The Devil's Carnival, a 2-person exhibition of new works by Devin Clark and Anthony Freda, opens Friday, March 7th from 7-10pm at Bunnycutlet Gallery.
