Underrated bit in mickey 17 is when mickey asks the mama creeper how she knows his name and she just goes “secret” and it’s never brought up again
I feel like a really key view of mickey 17’s character is the fact that when the creepers saved him from the crevasse he was stuck in, he assumed that they were rejecting him because he “wasn’t good meat”. Didn’t even occur to him until someone else pointed it out that they were saving him. Something something about it being pounded into his psyche for the past 16 reprints that he’s not worth saving so when he is saved he can’t even fathom it. Anyways I think I huave covid

Mickey 17 was a fun watch. And like i see sentiments that we need to blow up donald trump and i 100% agree. Hope that rotting sack of flesh perishes asap. But like when you see movies like mickey 17 or superman or any other movie where you have a clear distinction between good and bad and obviously you aren't siding with the comically evil hedonistic bad guy, you want to see mr. evil blown up, but like, you dont really do anything once you exit the movie theatre or switch off the tv. Sure you can say that it may change people's view on things, but does it really? Its harder to change your slightly phobic or ist (could be anything, homo, xeno, race, sex) grandma who voted conservative views. She's mostly a good person, she isn't Mr Evil Guy who deserves to get shot. Grandma sides with the good guys in the movies because she isnt a person devoid of empathy (or maybe she is, i dont know your grandma). Point is. Idk how i feel about calling these movies anti fascist because they aren't doing a whole lot to actually challenge fascism. Even when we have a comically evil clown in the highest government office, we're still unable to get him out of said office, what makes you think you'll be able to raise a gun against Mr Evil Guy when you can't even meaningfully protest right now?
