Two-hundred years after Oakhurst, Legundo is living in New York City (or at least, this world's version of it, don't think about it too hard), and gets dragged along to an art show by Cleo. Where he reunites with someone he never thought he'd see again.

this was inspired by another post I saw on here ages ago, but idk what it was or who made it, sorry.

Divert the trolley to save one person. Kill your friend. Everything is happening too fast. Your friend says to do it. No time to think. You walked him here from a cliff edge and he helped you tie him down. The guy with his arm on the tracks says "hey can you get on with it already?" Other people are already thanking your friend for his sacrifice. They tell him he is a good man, and he says he has them so fooled. He looks at you and tells you this is the right thing to do. He is covered in blood. Your hand was already on the lever.

Bloodloathing Divorce AU

Note: i used only the songs with english lyrics becuase while they do have other songs they either are lyricless or in another language (chinese russian etc)

Scott: Renegade- manipulation and enjoying it, yeah thats scott goldsmith

Honourable mention: Nightmare's Decent- lyrics somewhat fit but it didnt scream scott to me

Owen: Standchen - cant say im the happiest with this choice but i didnt watch much of owens POV so this was more so a vibesong

Shelby: Winged step - Vibes and voice imo fit shelby pretty well + its hopeful and whimsical

Cleo: Sealed - lyrics fit someone who wants to break away from their past + its slower calmer pacing fit cleo imo

Legundo: Settle Into Ash - Anti war messaging + breaking away from the cycle fit legs to a T i had to. (Plus the the self sacrificial notes)

Honourable Mention: From Ashes to Fire - For the greater good mentality

Pyro: Figure it out - Another person who i struggled to assign a song to, i think the lyrics fit but i have genuinely seen like nothing from Pyros POV so maybe i got him completely wrong idk

Apo: Bluish Light - I didnt watch much of apo either but i know she yearns for v!cherri so i thought this yearning ahh song fits

Drift: Heal the world - This was more so a personal vibe song since drift gave me the vibes of self sacrificial but also wanting to help others so this song felt fitting

Have Louis be someone Legs met while doing the travelling doctor thing. I dunno if it's more painful to have it just before or just after the everything that is Scott. Maybe we give Louis and Owen some more parallels and have Louis be sick in some way, and Legs offers him vampirism as a cure.

They travel together for a bit while Louis adjusts. It's nice. But they end up in a run down little town and Louis gets distracted helping out around the place and next thing they know, Louis is the mayor, and Legs is getting restless, because there's people out there who need him, but he's not sure if he's ready to leave his fledgling on his own.

OH maybe that's when Scott tracks him down to come 'treat' his mother, and *that's* why Legs eventually leaves Louis to do his own thing.

Legundo felt when Louis died. He was far away from the town, because it was too close to Oakhurst, he couldn't be there.

He meets Owen, and eventually Owen opens up about Louis and Legs is like "surely not...... that's too much of a coincidence" but then he asks Owen the name of the town where he lived, and it's the same town.

I... don't think Owen would react *well* to that information (Mostly cause he doesn't react well to *anything* even vaguely related to Louis)

I haven't thought too much about Owen in this AU, but during some brainstorming with some others we did come up with the idea of a horrible toxic polycule by adding Bloodletting and Crossfangs to the disaster of the Bloodloathing divorce. And I think that's hilarious so I'm running with it.

So, Owen.

I think we go with the classic approach to role-reversal bloodletting. He's human, he's sick, he's shunned by his society. Keep the majority of his canon backstory, but change the setting and the timeline. Louis wasn't the mayor of Oakhurst, but a different town not too far away. Owen was 16 when he met him, and their story is the same, but Louis is killed before he can turn Owen. Maybe he offered Owen the gift, Owen accepted it but Louis - knowing what an enormous decision that was - told him to think on it overnight. And that was the night the villagers came for him. Owen doesn't have vampiric strength to slaughter an entire village. Maybe he tries, maybe he kills some of them, and then is driven out into the woods.

He wanders alone, sick, heartbroken, for ten years before he stumbles into Oakhurst. His pain doesn't need 200 years in a hole to sour into bitterness and a hatred for humanity.

So I think Legundo very much does still want to help him. He's very obviously sick, and hurt in many ways. And it would still be awful and haunting for Owen, because here is someone showing him kindness once more, and it's genuine and so like Louis and that's terrifying - because humans don't care, no human has ever cared about Owen, so why is this one? And then the inevitable reveal of Legundo's vampirism just solidifies that belief. Of course Legs is a vampire, only vampires can love like that.

But he refuses every offer of turning from Legs, because Louis was supposed to be his sire. If it can't be Louis, then it will be no one. Owen is glad he is dying, because he has that same belief as he has in canon, that vampires all go to hell, and he will go to hell too for the things he has done, so he will get to be with Louis there too.
