Deus Cafe for the Publife x Barrio pop up.
We have been meaning to go here for a very long time but alas, the weekends over Christmas and New Years have been crazy busy.
After being on a cruise for two weeks and coming home last week, all we were craving the entire time was a really really good burger. And this collaboration did not disappoint.
Deus Cafe is on Parramatta Rd in Sydney for all you Australian food lovers.
It opens at 12, so of course we got there right on time to avoid the long lines. Third in line: we eagerly placed our order and awaited the arrival of the goods.
I have to mention that the whole atmosphere of the cafe is very cool. Decorated with quirky pieces of art, industrial touches and actual motorbikes. It doesn’t feel like your average burger joint.
We started with the “dirty fries”: thin and crispy french fries topped with cheese and “dirty” sauce. Dear lord. I, Mish here, want to inject the sauce into my bloodstream it is that good. The fries were perfect, but when slathered in sauce, it just took it to a whole other level. Never get plain fries. Always be dirty.
The one on the left is the double cheeseburger. Wow. Now if you love a good quarter pounder from the big M we were told this was similar so we had to try it. It was no comparison. Defs a lot more amazing. The meat was juicy. But I felt like I needed a bit more flavour in the meat itself to take it up a notch. The sauce was divine. I love sauce and feel like sauce makes the world a better place. Regardless, was a good burger and I regret nothing because it hit the B spot (the burger spot).
The one on the right was heaven. Sorry, what we meant was it was the fried chicken burger. With bacon. No words. I (Mish) can’t write. It is by far one of the most amazing burgers I have ever had and I have eaten my fair share of burgers (We will make posts of our other foodie adventures soon). It was a massive burger so I was kind of intimidated at how it was all going to fit in one mouthful. Challenge accepted. The chicken was perfectly crisp and flavoured to perfection. The cheese was the right amount of melted. The bacon was the extra flavour needed to make you moan in a public place. Hell, I even welcome the lettuce. And pickles, oh you got me good. I could eat this burger for every meal.
You have to go before this amazing duo return to their own equally amazing restaurants.
