un petit homme maigre, de figure assez intelligente, nerveux, qui contractait avec une persistance remarquable ses muscles sourciliers. A travers ses longs cils brillait un œil très-vif, mais dont il savait à volonté éteindre l'ardeur. En ce moment, il donnait certaines marques d'impatience, allant, venant, ne pouvant tenir en place.

Fix, despite being a twitchy little man who can't stand still, can turn it off when he needs to

English:

a small, slight-built personage, with a nervous, intelligent face, and bright eyes peering out from under eyebrows which he was incessantly twitching. He was just now manifesting unmistakable signs of impatience, nervously pacing up and down, and unable to stand still for a moment. 

I pulled these passages just so we could take a look at Fix's introductory description, and yet again our friend George is leaving out whole character-establishing sentences! Fix, while by no means Phlegmatic, is not consumed by his passions, and has self-control. George do you think this might possibly be significant characterization??

So, Just Fix Things:

He's just a Little Guy

He's thin/maigre (cognate with meager) - contrast Passepartout's portly/gras

He has an "intelligent face"

Nervous energy

Long luxurious lashes (which Towle also doesn't want you to know about)

Most likely to win an eyebrow-twitching contest (with une persistance remarquable )

Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed

In control of his passions

Not because of any "woke bullshit", in fact the only reason i chose to watch this version instead of another was because of the woke bullshit the negative reviews had promised me.

No, I want to complain about three things.

A) i was most definitely a Fix/Passepartout shipper when i read the book. however when they gender swapped fix, it was like oh. You've gender swapped this character for what? so you could make them heterosexual? Gender swap both, cowards.

B) Phileas Foggs whole personality... As well as some others, but we'll focus on him as he's the main character- the negative reviews had of course informed me that the show had "sucked out all his testosterone", but as an enjoyer of loser men, i was almost looking forward to that. No, but they've taken away everything that made him act like himself, he no longer acts cold, he acts like... Well, he acts like any David Tennant character (thats not a murderer, that is).

C) other then the personality, it was very inconsistent with the book? Again, not talking about Passepartout being Black or Fix being a women, I really dont mind that other then them being heterosexual, but I mean, what the fuck happened to Aouda?
