With a hint of lemon, the natural sweetness of ripe peaches is combined in this recipe for Peach Marmalade to create a delightful spread that can be used for breakfast or as a topping for desserts.
Ingredients: 6 cups of fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped. 4 cups of granulated sugar. 1/4 cup of lemon juice. 1 packet of fruit pectin. 1/2 cup of water.
Instructions: In a large saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, lemon juice, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the peaches are soft and the mixture thickens. Stir in the fruit pectin and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually add the granulated sugar, stirring until it's completely dissolved. Increase the heat to medium-high and boil the mixture for 5-7 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency, stirring frequently to prevent sticking. Remove the saucepan from the heat and skim off any foam that may have formed on the surface. Carefully pour the hot peach marmalade into sterilized jars, leaving a 1/4-inch headspace. Seal the jars with lids and process them in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes to ensure proper sealing. Allow the jars to cool and set at room temperature for 24 hours before storing them in a cool, dark place. Enjoy your homemade Peach Marmalade on toast, biscuits, or as a delicious condiment!
