Dragon Age OC Game: What demon would be attracted to them and why?
@chaosherald has revived a few old OC tag games from before I got into the Veilguard fandom, so I'll be doing a few of those over the next week or two, because I can. And today?
If your OC were to attract a demon which would it be? (Even if not a mage)
Well, let's do this for all four ladies. But there's a surprise at the end, because I was bit by inspiration (yes, it hurt).
And some of this may be me playing fast and loose with the idea that demons and spirits don't have a strict 1:1 balance, that it's possible for one type of spirit to become multiple types of demon depending on how its purpose is twisted, and for one type of demon to come from different types of spirit depending on that same twist.
Castelin Cousland
I see Castelin's defining spirit as Courage. She fights on in the face of danger and hardship, because to do otherwise would be to give up and to fail.
And so, when that's twisted?
Rage becomes what drives her onward, pushing her to lash out and make others feel what she has lost. Danger is no longer something to face because you must, but because it stands in your way.
Aelinn Hawke
I think Hawke's driving spirit is Duty. After her father's death, she was left as the head of the family. She took it upon herself to try to help Kirkwall be better. She tried to bring her disparate group of friends together despite their differences and how much they clashed.
And in all of that?
What is left for her? She's always giving, and being struck down for it when others are allowed to rise. When will it be her turn? When can she stop hurting and be allowed by the universe to succeed? Envy could easily be the demon drawn to her.
Tyria Lavellan
Tyria cares about others so much. Compassion is her dominant spirit, and is why she resonates with Cole the way she does. She wants to help. She wants to soothe hurts and calm fears, and she wants to make the world better.
Twisted?
Tyria cares about others, and knows what's best for them. Everything has been carved out of her to uplift others, leaving behind only the knowledge that she is right, and this is the way the world must turn.
Saadrah Mercar
Saadrah's driving emotion is Perseverance. Setbacks are simply an obstacle to work around. Difficulties are just experience waiting to be gained. She will not let a change of plans keep her from trying. A little bit kin to Determination like that.
And the way Saadrah's Perseverance would be twisted would lead to....
Despair. The push to keep going not because you can or should or want to, but because there is nothing else left. Devoid of drive, kept going by momentum alone. Hers would not be the Despair of giving up, but the Despair of emptiness, draining first her and then everyone around her like a depression that can't be eased.
And that leads to where inspiration bit me, because apparently I wanted to suffer emotional damage today.
It's a good thing Lucanis and Spite aren't real, because I would be assassinated ten times over because of this. Saadrah as a Despair abomination:

Figured I should give this piece its own post to show off, partly so people can share it along without the screenshots and demon commentary attached (if they want), but also to (hopefully) get it out from under that mature content warning (I'm blaming the Envy demon for it getting caught up by the auto-filter).
This is my Rook, Saadrah, if she were somehow turned into a Despair abomination. I was reading @chaosherald's post about Amara's demon, and the image grabbed hold of me and would not let go until I put it to (digital) paper. So I used it as painting practice.
I imagine this thing is almost nine feet tall, even hunched as it is. Like Saadrah got stretched out. And why do Despair demons have so many teeth?
