Also, I have to ask another one - Tyria/Solas for the alt love interest post😅
I am...not at all surprised to see this one. 😅
And ooh, while I have complicated feelings about the Solavellan romance, I think Solas and Tyria would actually work.
For one thing, Tyria made it a point to befriend every single one of her companions. That meant learning what they liked, learning how to communicate with them, and doing her part to be a peacemaker. And she's naturally curious, asking questions and actually listening to the answers, something Solas likes. She's willing to listen to him on the topic of spirits, even if she maintains a healthy caution around them. She isn't so strict in her Dalish ways that she refuses to listen to his counsel or even his stories.
She probably reminds him at least a bit of Mythal, even if Tyria's driving spirit is Compassion rather than Benevolence.
(It probably doesn't hurt that she's wearing Mythal's vallaslin either.)
If he could bring himself to allow it, and she wasn't so drawn to Cullen, they would connect over stories and knowledge and questions and the search for answers and wisdom, and he would only resent her a little for showing him that the people of the present are actually people.
She wouldn't let him remove her vallaslin, for what it represents to her (protecting others). She would be heartbroken at the breakup. She still wouldn't give up on him.
Knowing that he was once Wisdom, she'd try to help him see that side of himself again.
And she'd willingly join him in shoring up the Veil in the end, because a little Compassion would make eternity lighter.

OC assumptions: Saadrah's a softie when it comes to someone offering her a sweet gesture (even if it misses the mark). Tyria was a curious child who daydreamed easily.
(Am I way off)?
Ooh, got them both!
Saadrah grew up poor and fairly transient as her family moved a lot, so she learned to appreciate any sweet gesture for the intent behind it, regardless of how close to the mark it got. Her mother was very much the "It's the thought that counts" type, stressing accepting that the person at least tried.
And Tyria was absolutely curious, especially about lore and history, and daydreamed easily. Also carefully, lest she attract demons after her magic awoke, but she liked to think about how people of other cultures lived, especially people long since gone.
Thanks for tagging me, @sorcerousadventurer and @the-archons-moustache! And especially sorcerousadventurer for the tip about finding memes to use, since I don't collect them normally.
Rules: be unhinged. Do memes of your OC. That's it. That's the rules. Show your silly little goober to the world.
Like I said, I don't collect these normally (meanwhile my folder of Dragon Age memes and humor....), and I've got four ladies to do this for, so I limited myself to six for each just so I could put all the images in one post without having to combine them. Plus it meant I wasn't spending forever on putting them on screenshots.
(One of these days (months? years?) I'm going to recreate Castelin and Hawke on the Steam version of their games and see if I can't get a flycam mod working to get better shots of them. And just replay Tyria so I can get shots of her too.)
Anyway, memes below the cut.
Castelin Cousland
No time to rest or recover from trauma. You're being put in Situationsâ„¢.
Had to honor the nonsense of being declared public enemies for... *checks notes* being a Grey Warden.
Castelin and her "fists first" approach to certain conflicts. (Only certain ones! She's usually very diplomatic!)
Aelinn Hawke
My Hawke is and always has been at least a little bit mercenary.
I still love the joke of Hawke's friend group being, as I saw on the internet, "a sack of angry, horny cats you drag around."
When the world just wants to beat Hawke down again....
Tyria Lavellan
Religious Organization: *sees a Dalish mage with a glowy hand fall out of the sky in the ruins of their sacred place* Welp, guess you're our prophet now.
The Dalish Mage in Question: WTF
Tyria is a sweetheart, fight me.
Okay, a sweetheart, but don't mess with her.
Saadrah Mercar
Is, was, and will always do her own thing thankyouverymuch.
She's got knives and knows how to use them.
Solas? Skill issue.
Tag! Meme if you want, laugh at my picks if you don't. ;)
Finished my Cullentine @rutherfest piece for this week. I present to you Tyria holding Cullen and soothing him through withdrawal symptoms.
Safe and solid, protecting and proud. He feels like quiet, stronger when you hold him. — Cole
This was...a ride.
So I originally was trying to do this as painting practice with a limited palette, and experimenting with how I painted it. It really wasn't working out. I overworked it while trying to push and pull it into something I liked, and I considered scrapping it back to just the sketch at least twice. I ended up turning off (and then deleting) a few of the overdone layers and landed on something that was...fine. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it.
The picture above is not that picture.
The picture I ended up with after the first attempt was this one:
Like I said, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either.
But I wasn't going to mess with it further, so I went to bed. Woke up the next day still disappointed, and spent the bulk of the day largely dissatisfied with it. So I decided that yes, I was, in fact, going to start over from the sketch phase again.
This time, I went with a method I'm more used to. Laid down the flat colors (in a warmer palette this time), shaded on a layer above that (using the flats to keep my shading in set areas with the magic wand tool, and keeping the shading softer and simpler), then colored the lineart and applied a handful of adjustment effects to unify the final product a bit better. And I'm much happier with the new one. The mood of it has changed too, with the different color scheme.
So, I guess this is a lesson in perseverance (fitting for this pair), and being willing to try again when something doesn't work. And also letting it sit for a day first.
Anyway, for comparison, sketch and the two painted versions below so you can see them side-by-side.
Yeah, I definitely like the redo best (sketch is second place).

Wanted to show off a preview of my piece I'm doing for @rutherfest's Cullentine event this weekend, because I'm pretty proud of how the sketch turned out.
This went through a few different structure layers to get everything to sit right (along with tracing a photo of my own left hand for Tyria's left hand so I could get the finger positions exactly how I wanted them). I might tone down just how much hair is in Tyria's bangs (especially the part hanging forward), because it's looking a little 80s right now. But I'm really happy with the lines of her face, and also (after a bunch of wrestling with it) Cullen's face.
My plan is to do a rough painting exercise with this one. Keep it loose, keep it fast. Maybe use a limited color palette. We'll see. :)
Pulled from @blackwall-my-tiny-husband, and I'm using this as an opportunity to have a base post for each of my OCs. Here's my Inquisitor, Tyria Lavellan.
Place of birth: Clan Lavellan aravel, western Nevarra
Spoken Languages: Common/Trade, elvish
Love interest: Cullen Rutherford
Sexual orientation: straight
Occupation: First of Clan Lavellan, Herald of Andraste, Inquisitor, healer for the Templar sanctuary Cullen started near Wycome
Favorite
Color: gold, dark red, white
Entertainment: dances, storytellers, music
Pastime: collecting stories and folklore from all over, meditative knotwork, dancing, telling stories, chess and other games
Food: strawberry and peach tartlets
Drink: tea, especially chamomile
Books: her journals in which she collects stories and folklore
Have they
Passed university: more like "elven community college." She's received full training to be Clan Lavellan's First, but that's probably not considered the same level of formal education among other cultures.
Had sex: maybe a few times prior to Cullen, with her previous romantic partners.
Had sex in public: does out in the woods count?
Gotten tattoos: just her vallaslin on her face, honoring Mythal.
Gotten piercings: no. Her ears are too sensitive.
Gotten scarred: a slash down the left side of her face from a childhood encounter with an angry human, a ropy mess on her right shoulder from an injury taken while defending Haven from Corypheus, and Fade-burn damage on what's left of her left arm after Solas removes the Anchor.
Had a Broken Heart: once. Of her three previous partners, the second was abusive.
Been in love: Four times, counting Cullen.
Are They
A cuddler: of the comfort variety. She doesn't necessarily want to cuddle all the time, but will gladly do so to provide comfort, or to seek it out.
Scared easily: no, though she can be startled easily (her brothers used to prank her with this, until she started retaliating by throwing sparks at their backsides).
Trustworthy: absolutely. Not only does she try to avoid lying and deception whenever possible (unless it's a disguise or ruse for her own safety, such as spying on the Conclave or trying to remain unnoticed in Minrathous), but she prides herself on being reliable when she gives her word.
Jealous easily: not really. With Cullen, it's more insecurity that someone as kind and good-looking as him would settle for an elf, so if someone were to flirt with him, she'd simply worry he'd come to his senses rather than be jealous of the attention. At least, until she sees his discomfort, at which point she shifts gears to protective.
Parents: Paven and Tanithel (father and mother, latter deceased from a wasting illness when Tyria was young), Deshanna (maternal grandmother and Keeper for the clan).
Children: five total (daughters Emma, Iris, Ellana, and Tanithel, born before Veilguard, son Aeron born just after the end of Veilguard)
Pets: her hart, Tali, acquired while serving as Inquisitor. By virtue of marriage, two mabari (as of Veilguard), Commander (the one from Trespasser) and Ryder (the puppy mentioned in Cullen's letter in Veilguard).
