#dinner at the @laughingoyster about a 30 minute drive north of #powellriver . Lots of Louisiana spiced dishes. Alas no Oysters for my appie. My main was the daily special, halibut topped with a wild prawn creole sauce, and sides of grilled vegetables and very flavorful rice. A delicious entree. The halibut was tender and juicy, the prawns plump and spicy. Paired with @inniskillinwines Pinot Gris by the glass. I was hoping for a more BC premium wine by the glass as they do have nice BC wines by the bottle. Binoculars ✔️ Camera ✔️ Walkie-Talkie ✔️ Waiting for grizzly bears to appear by the river ✔️ What a surreal experience with Klahoose First Nation guides & @pacificcoastalcruises & @homfraylodge a few weeks ago. We did end up spotting a grizzly bear but I hear this week their tours watched at least a dozen feasting on salmon at this very location. Throwback to 2 weekends ago when we ran off to Desolation Sound. By ran, I mean took the amazing Little Blue Boat (the Pacific Bear) and sailed through a pristine Pacific Ocean marine park to get to @homfraylodge where we relaxed, paddled, played, and toured around some more for a couple days. While having coffee on the deck this clear morning, staff spotted a school of eulachon swimming around.
