Ever wonder how many flesh eating beetles it takes to clean bones?
Fun fact: Most of the cleaning is done by the larvae! They're especially crucial to the process, because the tiny, flexible larvae can fit into the tiniest crevices, eating away pieces of meat other methods of cleaning will have a hard time stripping away.
When I remove bones from my enclosure, I use a soft bristled paint brush to sweep out the tiniest little larvae from the nooks and crannies.
They are a fan of the chicken feet!

Binomial name: Anthrenus verbasci
True to their name, carpet beetles are often found on or under carpets - so why is this one on a sour cherry blossom? These dermestids are perfectly content both inside and outside manmade structures.
