why am I doing this to myself?? Nothing makes sense....

I'm in deriving hell and it never ends

My goal is to derive a shorter term for “science” that’s catch-all, like “logy” (which comes from Ancient Greek “logia”, which means “explanation”) is in English, which can be attached to terms, like onu “land” to yield a meaning of “geography”. But it can also be sticked on a potential word for “nature” to yield a meaning of “physics” or literally “physicsology”. Or maybe “naturology” is more accurate. In any case, it means the same thing as “physics” has come to mean in modern English and most other modern European languages.

@nuhrii-flaming has akukha as “to make known” in his English to Matoran Dictionary, but I can’t find any etymology about it. And adition, the causative particle (to make, to cause) is e- and that is not present here, so it looks like akukha might be wrong. It seems to be using -kha, which is a variant form of the verbal complex -ya, or -ha “from, out of (origin particle)”. Maybe nuhrii-flaming can shed some light on this one themself. Anyway, the following will sound a bit rambling, as it is simply me writing to myself, as if I was talking to myself. In the end it will make sense…

First let’s take a look at this noun:

akuta |n.| knowledge [akuta < aku-tau, from aku “sight, vision” and the u-modified elemental stem tau “elemental fire; spirit/essence, result of process”]

We could simply use a form of this… but let’s try and do something else first.

Proper form of “to make known” or “to explain SOMTHNG. would be:

Eakuya (e-aku-ya from the causative particle e- and the verb aku-ya “to know”.)

iakuya, with an e > i vowel shift. It looks okay, but it just doesn’t look or sound great. I want to try something else…

I have wasted my time. akuta “knowledge” as well as simply aku “sight” can easily be used as synonyms for “explanation”, as something being explained is something being known. However, there is a difference between truly understanding something completely and understanding something superficially. If we want a meaning of “to know everything about” or “to know concretely” we can combine aku-ya, ign(a)i and -ma (of, from (origin particle)). Although, I am not even sure the origin particle is necessary. Maybe @outofgloom can shed light on this for me? :)

Or let’s just reduce it to aku-ya and igni. I propose akuyaigni. But wait… I might as well reduce -ya to -y like in golyo. So we have akuyigni. But like I said, akuta “knowledge” could easily be used as well.

I am left with two final choices now:

akuyigni

or

akutigni (can be akutagni as well).

If anyone can think of a way to reduce it even further, go ahead and suggest it please! And, of course, which one do you like best? Any other proposals, using the nounal particle o / ī maybe?
