When I was a teenager my dentist casually mentioned I should probably get my wisdom teeth out at some point and I was like oh okay and then we didn't have dental insurance for a long time and when I finally went to a different dentist in my 20s they were like "you have 7 full sized wisdom teeth and they all need to go." So I went to an oral surgeon and he was like "why do you want these removed?" And when I explained my dentist said I probably should get them removed he was basically like ma'am there's no way we can get these out without drilling so far into your jaw that we break it and also cutting the nerve in your face. If they aren't causing any problems for you (which they weren't/aren't) then we're not touching those with a 10 foot pole. I once again don't have dental insurance so I really have no idea what's going on in there but I live in fear of developing mad jaw pain in my 30s and having to basically have a full jaw reconstruction.
