the two of you were originally just coworkers turned lovers until he got a promotion and you had applied to be his assistant, unaware of the fact that he had got the position that you would be the assistant too. so when you both were discussing the new positions you had gotten over dinner, it was a shock to the both of you.
“wait, you’re going to be the assistant to the new team lead?” you nod and smile at him after delivering the great news. “darling, i’m the new team lead.”
there was a long pause shared between the two of you as you processed the information just given.
“oh you’re the new team lead.”
“yes.”
silence again.
“well first things first, congratulations and secondly, does that mean we have to tell HR about us?”
“if we tell HR, one of us will have to step down from our position.”
“so we are not telling HR.” alhaitham chuckles at your quick response.
“no i suppose not. are you good at keeping secrets darling?”
“the best.” you grin.
you had to admit you were a little nervous to be your boyfriend’s assistant, he was always so serious at work. alhaitham was definitely the type to get silently frustrated when people didn’t do their job properly, but he knew your work ethic and how good you were at your current job so he had complete faith in your abilities. you both agreed to never bring work home with you, literally and figuratively. outside of work you were his partner not his assistant and he made sure you understood that.

baizhu is definitely the only one the keeps it professional at work though that certainly doesn’t stop you from teasing him when you can at work.
“would you please hand me glazed lily’s from this morning?” he casually asked while starting to whip up some medicine while the pharmacy was slow.
“do i get a kiss if i do?”
there’s a silence and small laugh before a response.
“i guess so, you have been a good worker today”
you grin as hand him the flowers that was freshly picked this morning from the mountain tops. he takes it and starts combining it with what he was working on as you eagerly wait for your kiss from him.
“oh did you think you were getting the kiss now?” he turns and smiles to you.
your smile disappears.
“well yeah”
“my silly flower petal, we can kiss after work we must remain professional at work right?”
you let out a disappointed sigh and he places a small kiss on your cheek.
“back to work then”
your smile returns to your face as your hand rests on the cheek he kissed.
“you’re so sweet~” baizhu sighs at your remark and lands a swift smack in your behind.
“behave at work darling~ or you might get punished at work~” his voice drips with a sweetness that sends a shiver down your spine as you head back to organizing the herbs.

the man is anything but professional with you at work, like your coworkers have considered telling HR on your behalf and you have then explain that you’re together and you’re absolutely fine with it. when a new person joins the job you decide to take kaveh aside and scold the hell out of him.
“i am being so serious kaveh, no more touchy touchy at work! we are just coworkers here, nothing else.”
“how about we talk about this more privately in my office?” without thinking you agree and follow him into a room with your arms crossed, clearly still upset.
kaveh closes the door behind you and gestures for you to continue your rant. you open your mouth to continue when it hits you, kaveh doesn’t have an office.
“wait did you get the promotion?” he nods. “oh my gosh!” you practically throw yourself into him arms and squeeze him tightly while you shower him with congratulations kisses.
“so now i’m technically your boss.” he smirks at you and pulls you into a kiss that leaves your lips tingling. “that’s gotta be worse than ‘just coworkers’ now. guess i’ll just have to do what i’d normally do behind my closed office doors.” he trails off placing kisses on your neck.
“i think this promotion of yours might be going to the wrong head.”
he chuckles at your comment.
“alright, i promise i’ll take it easy with the public displays of affection at the work place.”
“thank you.”

working as tignari’s assistant has got to be one of your favorite jobs. he is his own boss and he’s a really easy going one at that, he professional when he needs to be.
“did you gather the fresh herbs like i asked?” tignari asks as you walk in without looking up from his notebook.
“i sure did boss” you say placing the basket on the table.
he smirks at the title you playfully call him.
“you’ve got to be the best assistant i’ve had in a while, actually doing what i ask of you.” he teases and you goff at him.
“yeah yeah, get your nose out of your notebook and help me create this elixir.” you say as you start pulling out the ingredients.
tignari stands and goes to you, placing a quick kiss on your cheek before starting to mix the ingredients together like it’s a second nature.
“three cloves.”
you hand him the three cloves and he takes them and mixes them in.
“water.”
you hold his water out infront of him so he can sip from the straw before you put it back down.
“weed root.”
you hand it to him.
“kiss?”
you pause and smile before placing a quick kiss to his lips.
“i think i might need more than one.” he smirks.
