Somewhere in the West
Continuing my month-long series of posts on New Mexico and the Great Divide: this is the former Santa Fe Railway between Hatch and Deming. I've noticed that the ATSF had these tanks that sat directly on the ground like this one. Florida Peak, twenty miles distant, in the background, was striking when seen at this distance.

The Balboa Motel of Deming, New Mexico closed 4 years ago. It doesn't appear to be abandoned as the property is still maintained.

Possibly genus Disonycha, a type of flea beetle.
