Swarthmore College has banned Greek life after leaked documents showed one fraternity joked about sexual assault, made anti-LGBTQ remarks and ...
Earlier this month, Phi Psi and Delta Upsilon, the one two fraternities on the college, each voluntarily disbanded shortly after Phi Psiās leaked paperwork emerged. The damning 116 pages labeled āminute conferencesā have been written between 2013 and 2016 and got anonymously to 2 campus publications ā The Phoenix and Voices. Based on The Phoenix, the paperwork āare secondhand recaps of Phi Psi membersā actions.ā
UCFās Delta Upsilon fraternity was found in violation of five different hazing violations and alcohol-related misconduct on Nov. 25.
On Aug. 14, a call was made to UCFās anti-hazing hotline by a Delta Upsilon fraternity pledgeās mother to report that her son, along with five other pledges, were forced to complete certain activities ā like drinking a handle of liquor ā and video themselves doing it as proof of completion, according to an incident report. The mother, who stated in the report that both she and her son wish to remain anonymous, said the only member of the fraternity present at the time was the individual known as a āpledgemaster.ā
This little detail will wake you up if you are the parent of a fraternity member at the University of Kansas. The Delta Upsilon fraternity in 2017 had enough cocaine at its spring break house that it was drawing the Greek letters of the fraternity in the illegal drug. The next part probably wonāt help [ā¦]

Contributor Elizabeth Crockett Henderson says this "was created for the Delta Upsilon fraternity brothers for their fraternity football games." The shirt belonged to her father, who entered UNC as an undergraduate in 1963.

Alternative Families
The end of a school year is always sad for me. Thereās something very depressing about an empty dorm room and spaces that are usually loud being silent. But of course, this year is particularly sad because I graduated. In my time at Bucknell, Iāve been a kind of social butterfly, without a solid crew or squad, as they call it. But in spite of that, Iāve found a few groups which have become like families.
The first is my brotherās fraternity, Delta Upsilon. I met the brothers when I was a high school sophomore, and they were one of the most welcoming groups of people Iād ever met. Over the course of my first three years here, their house became a home for me, a safe haven when I was stressed and emotional. Pretty soon, I was spending every weekend and some afternoons during the week at DU, doing homework, watching movies, playing games, drinking (obviously), and just generally destressing. I never worried about the brothers judging me or thinking less of me. They were my family, whether they knew it or not, and this past year without them has been incredibly tough.
The second is my ultimate frisbee team, the Peacefrogs. Though weāve had our share of hard times, recruitment-wise, the team weāve brought together this semester has been incredible. Theyāre so supportive, caring, and fun to be with. When I was sick, they all pitched in to make me feel better, and that might have been the most helpful thing of all.
The third is the physics department. Every professor there genuinely cared about me, and without their continued encouragement, I wouldnāt be where I am today.
The fourth is Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. Iāve always found that a community of faith is the best family you can ask for, and IV has been no different. No matter how long Iāve been away, I always feel this sense of belonging and acceptance when I come back.
These groups have been crucial to my success at Bucknell, and I am so thankful to each and every person for all theyāve done for me.
