Do you know the Japanese meaning behind “control your heart”? I was wondering if this was just an English perspective when thinking about “control your heart”, because like, isn’t the heart EXPLICITLY romantic? And idk, I didn’t know if this was just a me thing or if it was me being too dumb to realize what it meant hebsisjsos

The phrase in Japanese is "kokoro wo sei suru" (心を制する). The word in question, kokoro, does not have a direct translation into English. It is often translated as "heart," "mind," or "spirit." The meaning of sei suru is "to control," "to command," "to get the better of."
I would not say that the word kokoro is explicitly romantic in the way "heart" is sometimes portrayed in English. I would recommend looking up the word to learn more, but basically it's meant to be a word that refers to the essence of a person that is noncorporeal. It's a person's thoughts, emotions, personality, etc. "Control your heart" in this context means "use rage as power, but don't let rage control you." That's not to say that there can't be some romantic context for this phrase or even for this moment in the manga. It's just that romance is not the only--nor even the primary--way to interpret this phrase as used in MHA thus far.
