La Route du Rock nous sert l'une des plus belles programmations de l'été
Tame Impala, Deerhunter, Pond, Tim Presley, Foxwarren, Fontaines D.C…
What would Louis II of Hungary - painted here by Bernard Strigel around 1515 - listen to if he was living nowadays ?
I am sure he would love the music of Deerhunter, especially “Like New” from the EP “Fluorescent Grey” (2007).

I am going through my very very old image shack and I'd like to take the time to explore the past life that I lived since I first got my computer.
This is the oldest picture that exists of my desktop of the first ever computer I owned. This was taken November 8th, 2007. I was in middle school then. Probably enjoying Halo 3 and writing action replay codes for Pokemon diamond and learning hexadecimal. I was around 13 years old at the time. Working in the library of my middle school with no social life. Middle school was actually a little tragic for me so I won't go too into detail. Just imagine any other experience in public school. Sans the stable social life. A little earlier from that November I made my last.fm account which I still use to this day. I had an old embarrassing deviantart full of 3d art I did. I started doing 3d stuff fairly early on when I was permitted to use my dad's gateway computer and I was using milkshape 3d and gmax for Halo 1 PC mods. I was around 12 years old then when I started learning those things since I was so fascinated with playing halo 1 on Xbox years ago. It really sparked my interest in computers and art and such back then.

oh wow you actually clicked it how nice if you to be interested. Continue reading and looking at some embarrassing images of my past.
This image was taken November 11th, 2007. I believe I was testing the imageshack toolbar's "screenshot" feature. I should say now that I was on my first computer that I have ever owned. My older sister's husband gave it to me. From what I remember it was a Pentium III 450Mhz computer with 384 megabytes of ram. It had a 9 gigabyte hard drive on it running windows vista. I felt so special. Before then I had to use my dad's to go on to neopets or the cartoonnnetwork site or play bionicle games.
I'll try to skip around now since I could go on and on talking about my 13 year old self.
January 22, 2008. My sister got a scanner and the first thing I did was scan my hand.
Ah I remember this. This image was taken February 10th, 2008. I had a varying degree of anime interests. Back then I think I was really into Hellsing and FLCL or something. I was obsessed with AMV hell and I think AMV hell 4 is what really varied my interest in music and such. I had a crappy mp3 player and I didn't have a lot of friends back then so during lunch I would walk to the bleachers on the far side of the grass and just listen to music and read and think and play my DS. I had a deviantart back then I believe. I might have been using either my DEEhunter or DEElekgolo account. Most likely my DEElekgolo account since my DEEhunter one got banned several times and one final time because I was underage.
Not 100% sure why I took this picture but around here I was in the middle of learning about the different color depths and such since I was taking an even deeper interest in learning how my DS worked after months and months of teaching myself hexadecimal and getting into binary and it's uses. Taken February 18th, 2008. I remember that valentines day.
Let's keep going.
oh god I was so into bionicles back then. I had everything. I would use the parts and make my own stuff. Mostly ships and other creatures. This is all I found. I loved designing my own things with them. Also that was my desktop back then. This was taken April 9th, 2008. I think before thing the bionicle site had this thing when you would buy one of their toys and put in a code on their site to rack up points. After buying about 3 products I noticed all the code started with "1644" and had four other numbers after it. So me being the smartass I was, I started putting in 1644 and four random numbers afterwards and ended up racking up so many points.
Another revision of 'me'. This time with an actually high resolution image. Taken April 17, 2008. Around this time xbox 360 modding was the great modder's race which I was taking part in. I was still a dumb 13 year old trying to understand the big boy stuff but I managed for the most part. Everyone was fighting to figure out the keys to rehash and resign xbox 360 container files in which I think I was using a fake on here. Getting overexcited thing I had some special thing that no one else had. Oh also see that wallpaper? I made that using apophysis. I was very interested in making fractals and that was one of the things I was proud of. It's still up on my deviantart too. Among the other fractals and 3d model rips from around that time.
This is embarrassing. Taken May 14, 2008. My overheated xbox 360 was in the process of being fixed and I was so excited that I took the time to edit memes all over this screenshot of the order. As if the toolbars weren't embarrassing enough.
The oldest image of any traditional artwork I did on my imageshack. Taken May 22, 2008. (I still have this sketchbook)
This is actually a very very significant image. Taken August 5th, 2008. I'll tell you why. Around then the keys for signing xbox 360 container image files were released which made it possible to mod a lot of the user content for xbox 360 games. A lot of people were modding halo 3 files trying to do a lot of tricks and mischief. I was in on the fun, mapping out white papers of the file formats that halo 3 used and writing tools for it. This image? This image was a breakthrough that I made. This image right here got me banned from halo 3, bungie stat servers, bungie forums, and halo 3 ODST multiplayer and fileshares because I had managed to get myself a special helmet that was only available to bungie employees and I uploaded this to my halo 3 file share as well as the film-clip file that showed me playing a map with it. This image got downloaded and re-uploaded to a lot of people's fileshares("he did it!") and I released whitepapers on how to do it. Not only that, but I even wrote a program that did it for you. I probably uploaded this image much later than when I took the screenshot but yea this was a pretty proud moment for me since I was the first to do this. People even thought that I was a bungie employee myself. Remember that I was 13 at this time and I was still an anti-social kid that worked at the library and hid during lunch and after school.
A little update on the artistic side of things. I was well into doing 3d art stuff since I was 11. This image was made November 19, 2008. I was 14 then and working with a team on re-creating Halo 3 multiplayer maps in 3d. This is where I was at with 3d modeling and rendering at age 14.
Another update, December 14, 2008
December 18, 2008. I had finished doing an entirely new lighting engine for the halo 1 engine. The top image is the regular in-game light mapping system. The bottom is the one I had done. A pretty accomplishing moment considering the game engine is over 7 years old and I managed to make it look pretty nice. Learned a lot about lighting and global illumination and such in the process.
January 8, 2009. I was teaching myself a lot about materials and lighting and such that I would make maps like this one to put some of that stuff to the test. I called this cubemap_test_v2 since I was primarily testing out how to mix real-time reflections with cube maps and to get post processing effects to work as well. in the reflections. Trying to make the most out of a 7 year old engine. I was very proud of the sky I made for this and it got pretty popular that people even made videos about it.
some level making and lighting 3d stuff. January 16, 2009. I worked on this map with a guy named "Higuy" who was interested in the lighting stuff I did. Sadly though I had to use the UVs that the old lighting engine gave the map so there was a lot of errors and glitches in it. When it was finished though I ended up using the completed map as a portfolio piece to get into Art Center college of Design for a while later on.
3D art stuff. May 3, 2009. I forgot to mention that I was in high-school around then. There was a new program called the "Careers in entertainment academy" or CEA for short. It was a new program that a bunch of teachers wanted to try. A lot of the stuff they taught was pretty out dated and for the times we had classes to teach flash and photoshop and video editing I ended up being the teacher's pet and messing around in class a lot since I would finish my assignments early. I even taught the class a few times. I did stuff like that all the way until I graduated high-school and it really did harm to me. I didn't have much of a social life as it is so the only extent of a social life I had was when people contacted me because they wanted something and nothing else. During lunch I would just hang out in the art class since it was open and draw and maybe chat with my sister. She graduated after senior year and I ended up going there still all through out high-school and even made a few friends along the way. It was still very slow and new for me to have close friends since I was being used so much, by the students and the teachers. I broke through though and made some really quality friends that I still have to this day. My good friends Kiera and Alex to name a couple.
June 8, 2009. Wrote another little tool that got sort of popular. This tool scraped screenshots directly off of the bungie stats servers. Keep in mind I'm still banned from bungie servers and halo 3 but that didn't stop me.
August 28, 2009. At this point I was roughing out a portfolio to use to get a few art center classes.
September 1, 2009. Lighting a new map, this time testing some more advanced caustics and refractions.
(nsfw)
September 21, 2009. birthday was on the 19th. I was finally 15. A mature adult. I put my mature mind and skills to the test and make this.
December 25, 2009. Christmas day. I got a wacom bamboo pen and touch tablet(my first tablet) and this is the first thing I make.
Five days later. January 1, 2010. 15 years old. My first still life study of an apple I was eating. I had already gotten the hang of using a tablet sort of.
I was soon to turn in my portfolio around then to get some foundational classes at art center.
Here are the first two pages of the sketches I did within the first day of my classes at art center. I am not sure when these pictures were taken. I think around February or April. It was around then that I made my first tumblr post.
May 25, 2010. My sister got a new scanner and the first thing we scanned was some toast.
This was my desktop, August 11, 2010. The site there is polycount.com
This is as recent as my imageshack goes.
Yea there is plenty more and plenty that I didn't show simply because it was too personal or whatever reason. I stopped using image shack around then and started using. Which only shows the first 50 or so images that you upload so the only way I can get to those links is if i was to go through old skype chatlogs and forums or whatever such which I may do one day and make a part two to this post something.
I'm probably going to go back and edit this post a few times or something.
