The extraordinary and chilling story of career conman Robert Freegard who masqueraded as an MI5 agent and fooled people into going into hiding, and the woman who fell for him, and then brought him down.
James Norton is very persuasive as the pathological con artist for whom lying is second nature.
Gemma Arterton looks gorgeous in her elegant wardrobe. She does her best to make her character convincing too. But it became increasingly difficult to accept the way she had to switch between not believing him and being determined to track him down with law enforcement, and being under his spell.
So it's a very fascinating story, but it did make less of a gripping thriller the longer it went.
