This is America. This is who we are. We did see this coming, Trumpās been saying as much on Twitter for a while. Do not compare us to other countries as if other (black and brown) countries are inherently less civilized democracies, especially when the US is responsible for inciting some of that violence in said countries.
When you tell yourself that your country is perfect, you are blinding yourself to all other possibilities and living in a fantasy. Expect the worst and plan for it. Address these issues and work to fix them instead of pretending they donāt exist.
This is who we are and we need to accept this so we can change it.
